CULTURAL DAY: A DAY TO SHARE OUR HOME CULTURES AT SCHOOL

The final week of term was not without its highlights and Ms Dhir ensured this week was full of excitement as the whole school got involved in Cultural Day. Students and teachers all were invited to come into Waldegrave on Tuesday 14 July wearing their home cultural dress in return for a donation to Unicef. We had a huge array of outfits on display, from Nigeria to Japan, Pakistan to Brazil, Ireland to Wales as well as of course plenty of students wearing England shirts ahead of the football! The day also offered a number of workshops for our Year 7 students, these were run by teachers with support from our fantastic new prefects. Pupils got the chance to take part in two activities including colourful rangoli, cultural music, learning to write in Arabic script, creating a dreamcatcher, Maori poi, Diya henna designs and cultural food tasting. These were lots of fun and offered an insight into other cultures.
