This is not intended as an exhaustive list of duties or a restrictive definition of the post but rather should be read as a guide to the main priorities and typical areas of activity of the post-holder These activities are subject to amendment over time as priorities and requirements evolve and as such it may be amended at any time by the line manager following discussion with the post holder. This post is unlikely to meet the relevant criteria to allow the University to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship. Team Work • To build and maintain productive relationships with academic and professional service colleagues and

Management • Manage and develop the staff team allocated to agent relations and China. • Manage all budgets as assigned. • Participate actively, as required, in committees and groups related to international operations. • Identify, and propose solutions for, any internal ‘blockers’ to effective student recruitment through agents. • Produce and present (to line manager and for further circulation as required) monthly reports on the areas of responsibility. • Develop and deliver market intelligence to inform actions and decisions across the areas of responsibility. • Pro-actively identify opportunities for market development in China, working co- operatively with others to ensure harmony between agent-led and ‘open’ recruitment. Marketing and Communications • Support agents with planned marketing initiatives that use their channels. • Across all areas of responsibility, ensure that the University brand and profile is positively enhanced and consistently communicated. • Represent the University at home and overseas as and when required. • Work with the wider Marketing and Communications Directorate to obtain support with marketing collateral, media relations, social media and advertising.

Student Recruitment • Lead on planning and implementation of annual Chinese recruitment in a timely, efficient and effective way. • Actively input into international recruitment target setting at faculty, school and course level. • Develop an effective agent portal as an efficient interface between Keele and agents. • Identify and recruit new agents in promising Chinese locations. • Lead the development, maintenance and support for the overseas agents network ensuring that performance is maintained and, if necessary, identify termination of contract. • Contribute to the management and operation of pathway programmes. • Develop financial incentive packages for agent commissions that increase recruitment and net gain to the University. • Work on China with the Global Education Team (responsible for all aspects of the University’s international mobility activity including Study Abroad, exchange, short programmes and ERASMUS+ funded staff mobility).
