Le conseil municipal de Clarence-Rockland a approuvé d’importants investissements dans les infrastructures et les équipements de loisirs, notamment le projet de 22,26 millions de dollars portant sur l’installation d’une conduite d’eau principale dans les rues Caron, Baseline et Bouvier, ainsi que l’élargissement du corridor routier de la route Saint-Jean-Poupart, d’un montant de 15 millions de dollars. Grimard a une longue carrière dans les forces de l’ordre. Il a occupé le poste d’agent au sein du Service de police d’Ottawa, où il a notam- ment travaillé au sein de l’unité spécialisée dans les menaces chimiques, biologiques, radiologiques, nucléaires et liées aux explosifs $#3/& VOFJOJUJBUJWFDPOKPJOUFNFOÊFFO collaboration avec la Gendarmerie royale du Canada (GRC). Il a passé neuf ans comme officier d’infan- terie au sein des Forces armées canadiennes. Au cours de son mandat, il a été déployé lors de deux conflits majeurs : la première guerre du Golfe et les opérations de maintien de la paix en Bosnie dans les années 1990.
Un membre de longue date du conseil municipal de Clarence-Rockland brigue un nouveau mandat. Carl Grimard, conseiller de la quar- tier 3, a annoncé sa candidature aux élections municipales de cette année. Il a été élu pour la première fois à ce poste en octobre 2014, puis réélu en 2018 et en 2022, années où il s’est présenté sans adversaire et a été élu par acclamation à son siège de la circonscription 3. M. Grimard vise désormais un quatrième mandat en tant que conseiller de la circons- cription 3. « Je suis honoré d’occuper ce poste et de bénéficier de la confiance des habitants de ma circonscription », a ajouté M. Grimard.

M. Grimard fait partie des élus sortants de Clarence-Rockland qui ont annoncé leur intention de briguer un nouveau mandat au conseil municipal, aux côtés de Diane Choi- nière (quartier 8) et de Stéphane Fournier (quartier 1). Michel Bergeron wanted not only a way to honour his late wife, but also, give back to a community that has given his family so much. Bergeron, the owner and operator of Ber- geron Garden Centre (Les Serres Bergeron), located on De La Baie Road, just off County Road 17 in Rockland, is hosting an event called Blooms for Cancer on Saturday, June 20 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event, in collaboration with local radio stations 92.5 BIG FM Rockland and 107.7 BIG FM Hawkesbury, is money for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Rockland Help Centre, the local food bank that conti- nues to see rising demand week after week. It also honours the memory of Bergeron’s wife, Thérèse, who passed away from cancer last May. Thérèse was an integral part of not only the garden centre, but also Landtech, another business owned by the Bergeron family. “The last year has been extremely diffi- cult, but I have been doing my best to keep
