The Seaway International Bridge Corporation and the Federal Bridge Corporation invite the local community to a Bridge Open House on July 8, 2014 from 2pm to 8pm ...5,700 tons of steel and hundreds of thousands rivets and bolts were used to build the old North Channel Bridge... ...3,100 m 3 or 7,300 tons of concrete were used for the the deck, 14,500 m 3 or 34,000 tons for the piers and footings... ... 142,000 litres, or 32,000 gallons of paint were used to paint the bridge...

... the bridge which is 1,600 m long and 78% over land cost $8,539,695 to build... ... from 1962 to 2014, the old North Channel Bridge, had 78,228,480 cars and 3,946,658 truck transits... ... the original toll rates were $1.00 for car and driver, 10¢ for each passenger... 25¢ for a motorcycle, 10¢ for a pedestrian and $3.50 for a truck with a maximumweight of 8 tons...
