PROVINCE ANNOUNCES NEXT TERM’S FUNDING FOR SCHOOLS

HAWKESBURY ATTRIBUE 25 000$ À SES ORGANISMES The provincial education budget will also include $1.6 billion in targeted resources for schools boards to help them deal with pandemic-related needs, including enhanced cleaning protocols, supplies of personal protective equipment, and other critical supplies, and also temporary equipment and staffing needs. The ministry will also set aside $85.5 million to help students whose education has been affected in some way by the pandemic. 5IF6QQFS$BOBEB%JTUSJDU4DIPPM#PBSE will get $353.7 million in base funding for next term. This money comes from the Grants of 4UVEFOU/FFETQSPHSBN (4/ UIFGVOEUIBU provides the bulk of school board operating budgets based on their student populations. 5IF(4/GVOEJOHSFQSFTFOUT an $18.1 million increase compared to the funding approved for all of Ontario’s schools for the 2020-2021 term. For the Eastern Ontario region and the four school boards that serve communities in Prescott-Russell and Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry, the total funding for 2021-2022 will be $972.6 million, which amounts to a 1.8 per cent increase in the base budget funding for all four school boards.

La Corporation de la ville de Hawkesbury a attribué 25 000$ de son budget a différents organismes communautaires, sportifs et culturels durant le conseil de ville du lundi 10 mai. Chaque année, la ville de Hawkesbury réserve un budget pour soutenir des événe- ments spéciaux, des opérations et pour sou- tenir la création de nouveaux organismes. Pour se voir attribuer un fonds, l’organisme doit répondre à certains critères, comme l’originalité du projet qu’il soumet, l’impor- tance de répondre à un besoin exprimé par le milieu, son dynamisme et son engagement dans le milieu, entre autres. Pour l’année 2021, le Groupe Action pour l’enfant, la famille et la communauté de P&R se voit attribuer 5 000$, le Centre Culturel Le Chenail 1 750$, le Club d’autos Hawkesbury Auto Club 8 500$, la Banque alimentaire centrale de Hawkesbury 3 250$, le Comité EF1BSFOUTEV1BSD0ME.JMMFU MB Troupe de théâtre Le Cercle Gascon II.
