of the Books of the Bible is either accidental or designed. That the number of books in the Bible should be a multiple of eleven may indeed be purely accidental; since, however, only every eleventh number is a multiple of . eleven, the chance for any number being a multiple of eleven is only one in—eleven. That this number be so divided between anonymous and non-anonymous books that each class be also a mul tiple of eleven—this also may be accidental; but the chance for this is now only one in 11x11, or one in 121. That this number be so divided between anonymous by elevens among the authors of only one book and those of more than one—may also be due to chance; only the chance for this being accidental is now only one in l l x l l x l l , or one in 1331. Going thus through the eight features of elevens noted above, every one of them may indeed be accidental; but the chance for their being so is only one in the eighth power of eleven or one in 214,358,881. T h e F e a t u r e O f S e v e n II. The sum of the numeric values of the 26 au thors named as Biblical writers, which was seen above to be 7931, or 11x7x103, is a multiple of seven as well as of eleven (Feature 9). Of this number, the 21 writers of the Old Testament (or 3 sevens) have 3808, or 544 sev ens, and the New Testament writers have 4123, or 589 sevens (Feature 10). Of the 3808 belonging to the Old Testament, 2933, or 419 sevens belong to the writers of the Law and the Prophets, from Moses to Malachi; and 1190, or 170 sevens, belong to the writers of the so-called Hagiographa, from David to Nehemiah (Feature 11). Seven of the 21 Old Testament writers, or 3 sevens, are expressly named as such in the New; namely: Moses. David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Their numeric value is 1554, or 222 sevens (Features 12 and 13). The numeric values of Moses, who heads the list, and John, who closes it, 345 and 1069, make together 1414, or 202 sevens (Feature 14). The Bible begins with the Hebrew word “beginning,” and ends with the Greek word hagios, “saint.” The Hebrew word occurs in the follow ing books: Genesis, Exocjus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuter onomy, 1 Samuel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Hosea, Amos, Micah, Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes, Daniel, Nehe miah, 2 Chronicles. The Greek word occurs in the follow ing New Testament books: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, 1 and 2 Peter, 1 John, Jude, Romans, 1 and 2 Cor inthians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Thes- salonians, Hebrews, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Revelation. The respective numbers of these Bible books in the order of their places are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12,-13, 14, 15, 17, 20, -27, 28;°'29, 33, 35, 37, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 45, 46, 47, 48, 51, 52, 53, 54, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66. These books are 42 in number, or 6 sevens; and the sum of these 42 numbers is 1575, or 225 sevens (Features 15 and 16). These eight features of sevens in connection with the order and writers of the Bible books may also be acci dental, but as the chance for any number being a multiple of .sevens merely happening, is only one in seven, the chance for all eight happening together is only one in the eighth power of seven, or one in 5,764,801. The chance for those features of plevens and sevens happening at the same time is only one in 5,764,801x214,358,881, or only one in about one thousand million of millions. From Feature (1) of the elevens it is thus seen that the present number of the books in the Bible is not acci-
