Continued promotion of reflective practice and professional development opportunities to enhance quality of care.
3. Patient and Staff Experience
Aligned with CQC domains: Safe, Caring, Responsive, Well-Led
Improving both patient and staff experience remained a core focus during the year. We continued to strengthen mechanisms for engagement, ensuring that both patients and staff were actively involved in shaping services and driving improvements. Transparency and accountability were promoted through regular feedback loops and ongoing collaboration with Healthwatch and other stakeholders. The implementation of a refreshed Communications Strategy supported improved engagement and information sharing across the organisation.
Progress during 2025/26 included:
Continued use of patient feedback surveys and development of Patient Participation Groups to gather insight and inform service improvements. Strong staff engagement, including participation in the annual staff surveys to capture a representative and balanced view of the organisation as an employer. Regular communication through bi-monthly newsletters and the establishment of an engagement panel to strengthen dialogue with staff and stakeholders. Embedding of the NHS ‘Being Fair’ approach, further supporting a culture of openness, learning, and psychological safety. Delivery of Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) training to appropriate staff, promoting a safe environment to raise concerns. Investment in staff wellbeing
through training of Mental Health Champions & First Aiders and Traumatic Risk Management (TRiM) practitioners.
