Graduate careers Not every law student wants to become a solicitor, barrister, legal executive or professional paralegal. Instead, you may want to use your law degree to enter the wider graduate job market, having identified the career that will best suit your skills, experiences and knowledge.

Nottingham Law School Mentoring Scheme

Nottingham Law School has set up a mentoring scheme in conjunction with a number of Nottingham law firms. This gives our students the opportunity to build a relationship with an experienced legal practitioner. These opportunities provide support and a valuable insight into the legal profession. Pro bono “Pro bono”means “for the public good”, and it refers to voluntary legal work. Our pro bono opportunities give you the chance to develop legal and non-legal skills in areas like research, writing and interviewing, plus the opportunity to help with real-life problems and provide necessary assistance to the local community.

“The University has an inviting nature, as individuals such as Edward Mosley (part of the Employability team) have helped to strengthen my CV and enhance my employability for work placements such as mini pupillages and vacation schemes. Further to this, networking sessions

and workshops organised by the Employability team have proved to be helpful, as I have been able to improve on my networking and interview skills from the early stages of university.”
