Spring flood watch continues throughout region

County Road 8 leading to the Rockland side of the Clarence-Rockland/Thurso/Monte- bello ferry crossing point. City of Clarence- Rockland PublicWorks Department issued a notice of the road closure and affirmed it will monitor the situation and announce when the bridge link to the island and the ferry landing reopens to general traffic. Residents should check municipal web- sites for road closure updates due to floo- ding. Landowners with properties bordering streams should note any signs of undermi- ning of the stream banks.

The high water situation around Eastern Ontario was slowly sinking down for the most part, by the Easter long weekend, though there were still a few last surprise floods in the region. The April 13 closure to most traffic of the bridge link between Clarence Island and Rockland being one such instance.
