Judges were impressed by the thoughtful design, workmanship and collaboration behind Ferm Engineering’s transformation of Donegal Town’s historic public square into an inclusive pedestrian zone. The government-funded project for Donegal County Council included new seating, paving and planting with the aim of transforming the space to boost tourism, local businesses, footfall and community activities. Achieving its goals of safety, usability, atmosphere and energy efficiency, Ferm Engineering’s lighting scheme effectively extends the day for The Diamond, letting markets, outdoor dining, performances and community events happen safely after dark. Highlighting key town features, it also serves a wayfinding purpose.
Henry Deane Electrical went above and beyond to source and deliver a high-spec full electrical and solar installation for this new-build home in Bantry. All client demands were met - from easy-clean fixtures and a showpiece vaulted ceiling light to bespoke, engraved antique brass isolator plates. Appointed to the project, Henry Deane Electrical immediately began researching products to meet the client’s high spec including a visit to Electex Limerick to seek inspiration and advice from exhibiting manufacturers. Several products viewed at the show ended up in the finished house - including Aurora’s square downlighters, which were ultimately used in the kitchen, hall and master bedroom.
