COMMUNITY FUNDRAISES FOR LARRY MANUEL
UNE JOURNÉE POUR LA FAMILLE À ROCKLAND
A craft and vendor fundraiser took place June 23 at the Jean-Marc Lalonde Arena in Rockland, to raise money for a member of the community battling cancer. Larry Manuel was diagnosed with Stage 4 Squamous Cell Oropharyngeal Cancer – a cancer of the base of the tongue – on January 29, 2018. He underwent radiation and chemotherapy sessions. The community came together to support a key member of the Rockland community – Larry was a main volunteer during the flood relief efforts of last year. All the proceeds from the craft and vendor fundraiser will be going towards Larry’s GoFundMe page that was set up by his sister Susie Manuel. The GoFundMe page is currently at $6,600 with a goal of $10,000. —photo Alexia Marsillo

Les Chevaliers de Colomb de Rockland ont organisé une journée familiale, le samedi 23 juin au Parc Deschamps à Rockland. Malgré la pluie légère de temps à autre pendant la journée, des familles et des jeunes de tous âges se sont rassemblés au parc. Des hotdogs, des croustilles, de l’eau et des jus ont été offerts et plusieurs activités se sont déroulées, incluant des parties de soccer et la peinture de visage. —photo Alexia Marsillo
