Lead or facilitate discussion on wear on racks and the associated risks, how to do a visual inspection of the rack, and what to do in case of detecting excessive wear on the rack
The participants shall:
Engage in discussions and share experiences on wear and associated risks and responsibilities in relation to racks in WTG
ELEMENT 12.10 - GREASE THE RACK
Learning objective:
79) The participants can describe how to determine if a rack and pinion is sufficiently greased, and how to grease a rack and a pinion (Knowledge, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Present examples of how to recognise when a rack and a pinion is sufficiently greased
Demonstrate how to grease a rack and a pinion and explain how to find guidance in the maintenance manuals
Lead a discussion about why rack and pinions must be sufficiently greased
The participants shall:
Engage in discussions about the needs and risks in relation to greased rack and pinions and share experiences on rack and pinions in WTG
ELEMENT 12.11 - FORMATIVE POST-EVALUATION
The participants shall:
Conduct a short questionnaire test to recap the theory and safety issues from Lesson 12
Check own answers and solutions from the shown fact list on completion of the test
