ELEMENT 4.5 - PRE-USE INSPECTION OF LIFT, GENERAL SAFETY
Learning objective:
31) The participants can explain the relationship between technically flawless components and the mitigation of risks, including sufficient lightning in the cabin (Knowledge, Intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Facilitate group discussions on procedures of how to inspect relevant components in different lift types
Facilitate group discussions on the relations between technically flawless components and the mitigation of risk
Provide constructive feedback on discussions and the participants’ shared experiences on inspection of lifts in relation to safety
The participants shall:
Sum-up the procedures of how to inspect relevant components of the lift and alternative lift types
Explain the relations between technically flawless components and the mitigation of risk
Suggestion for alternative learning activity: The participants answer a questionnaire on relevant topics. Questions must support the participants’ reflections and decision taking

The aim of this lesson is to enable the participants to independently use a lift in a WTG safely and responsibly in routine work situations and on their own initiative to seek lift type-specific or other guidance or help when needed.
After successfully having completed this lesson of the GWO Service Lift User Module, the participants can:
32) Take responsibility for ensuring that all protective systems and components at the lift plant are in place (Ability, intermediate level)
