33) Take responsibility for performing a pre-use inspection of a lift by following the actual manual and pre-use inspection checklist and on their own take initiative to seek further guidance when needed (Ability, intermediate level)
34) Take responsibility for using and operating the lift safely and responsibly (Ability, intermediate level)
Lesson 5 may be conducted as a coherent exercise covering learning objectives from Lesson 5 and additional elements from other lessons where feasible. Furthermore, relevant theory from previous lessons should be applied during the practical exercises

ELEMENT 5.1 - INITIAL PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Learning objectives:
35) The participants take responsibility for wearing PPE and PFPE in accordance with standing procedures (Ability, intermediate level)
36) The participants take responsibility to not enter a work site when feeling ill, drowsy or are in other ways unfit to work (human factors) (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Facilitate that the participants wear PPE and PFPE in accordance with standing procedures
Lead a discussion about human factors, what initiates them and what impact they may have on safety at work
Provide feedback on the participants’ approach to PPE and PFPE and human factors impacts
The participants shall:
Put on PPE and PFPE and conduct buddy checks, share experiences about human factors at work and receive feedback constructively
