ELEMENT 5.11 - EMERGENCY DESCEND
Learning objective:
45) The participants can take responsibility for carrying out an emergency descend of the lift safely and in accordance with manuals and guides (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Demonstrate how to perform an emergency descend of the lift and present emergency descend systems from alternative lift types. Explain conditions when emergency descend must not be used and present alternative actions to be taken
Facilitate learning activities where the participants practise how to perform an emergency descend of the lift
Provide feedback on the participants’ professional and personal performance
The participants shall:
Practise how to perform an emergency descend on the lift and engage in discussions about emergency descent systems on alternative lift types
Engage in discussions about:
a.
when not to use an emergency descend
b. follow-up actions to be taken after an emergency descend has been performed
c. alternative actions to be taken on different lift types in relation to an emergency descend
Receive feedback constructively
