The instructor shall:
Present a lift rescue and evacuation plan and lead a discussion about how to apply such a plan
Demonstrate a safe shut-down procedure for the evacuation from the lift
Design and conduct learning activities where a rescue and evacuation plan must be followed
Provide feedback on the participants’ performance
The participants shall:
Engage in the discussion on how and why to follow a rescue and evacuation plan, and receive feedback constructively
ELEMENT 6.3 - EVACUATION FROM LIFT
Learning objective:
49) The participants show interest in following relevant plans and manuals to evacuate from a lift correct and safely (Ability, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Demonstrate an example of how to evacuate from a lift and explain all safety precautions during the evacuation
Have the participants find examples of evacuation processes on different lift types in relevant manuals
Involve all participants by raising questions related to the evacuation procedures with special attention to safety, including fall protection and shut-down of the lift
The participants shall:
Engage in answering questions and share experiences of lift evacuations and other experiences related to working at heights and fall protection
In pairs, use relevant manuals to find examples of how to evacuate a lift, and share findings with the rest of the class
