8. SERVICE LIFT INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE MODULE
8.1 Aims of the Service Lift Inspection and Maintenance (SLIM) Module The aim of this module is to enable the lift technician to: ensure the readiness of the lift by inspecting and maintaining the functioning of lifts and the lift plant; to take correct measures to acquire assistance; and perform simple adjustments or replacement of components in a lift in a WTG in accordance with relevant manuals and legislation. These inspections cover both initial inspections for the purpose of commissioning the lift, general required inspections, and inspections after replacement of main components.
Fundamental for the training is the wind technician’s attention to, and awareness of, always following and seeking guidance from the relevant lift manuals and instructions.
The overall learning objective of this module is:
1) The participants can solve routine tasks to inspect and maintain lifts in a WTG following manuals, instructions, guides, and legislation (Ability, basic level)
8.2 Course Participants´ Prerequisites for the Service Lift Inspection and Maintenance Module
GWO Service Lift User training or similar brand specific Service Lift User training is a prerequisite to participate in the Service Lift Inspection and Maintenance Module training.
Basic technical experience and knowledge (primarily mechanical and electrical) is necessary to be able to get full benefit from the training.
8.3 SLIM Module Instructor´s Qualification
As an addition to GWOs Requirements for Training, a competent SLIM module instructor must be approved as such by a competent instructor or train-the-trainer.
A competent instructor or train-the-trainer must hold the sufficient lift technical experience on multiple lift types obtained by (for example) work experience, lift trainings and manufacturer led lift trainings

8.4 Duration of the Service Lift Inspection and Maintenance Module
The total contact time for completing the Service Lift Inspection and Maintenance Training Module is 7 hours and 0 minutes.
The training provider must not exceed the times per day given in table 8.4.1 below.
