Service Lift Training Standard / V4

14) The participants can recognise and describe the use of PPE and PFPE in accordance with standing procedures(Knowledge, basic level)

15) The participants will show interest in, and an awareness of, mitigating exposure to chemical lubrication products and acting responsibly (Ability, basic level)

The instructor shall:

Present relevant PPE and PFPE equipment, including: helmet, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility clothing, harness and fall-arrest equipment, and explain their purposes

Ask questions on the participants’ knowledge and experience with the relevant PPE and PFPE

Lead a discussion on exposure to chemical lubrication products and mitigating actions

The participants shall:

Familiarise themselves with the relevant PPE and PFPE and ask more experienced peers for relevant information when necessary

Engage in instructor’s questions and share their experiences on the use of PPE and PFPE and the mitigation of exposure to chemical lubrication products

LEGISLATION AND DOCUMENTATION

The aim of this lesson is to ensure that operations on lifts are conducted according to relevant legislation and documentations. This is reached by emphasising the need to (at all times) locate, seek guidance in, and use the lift manuals and directives, and to enable the participants to comply with national legislation, company regulations and guidance, and any brand specific recommendations when using and working on a lift in WTGs. This emphasis is maintained throughout the lessons in the module where relevant.

After having successfully completed Lesson 2 of the Service Lift Inspection and Maintenance Module, the participants can:

16) On their own, take initiative and take responsibility to follow lift manuals, directives, regulations, and legislations as well as relevant national and international legislation when working on lifts in a WTG (Ability, intermediate level)
