Service Lift Training Standard / V4
After successfully having completed Lesson 8 of the Service Lift Inspection and Maintenance Module:
51) The participants will, on their own, take responsibility for inspecting the bottom obstruction device (with sub-elements) and ensure its function (Ability, intermediate level)
52) The participants will take responsibility to adjust and replace switches and request repair of the bottom obstruction device, when needed according to the manual (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor may choose only to practise installation and adjustment of either a top or a bottom obstruction switches

ELEMENT 8.1 - BOTTOM OBSTRUCTION DEVICE FUNCTION
Learning objectives:
53) The participants can perform a function test of the bottom obstruction device’s mechanical parts and switches (Skills, intermediate level)
54) The participants can perform an adjustment of the bottom obstruction device’s mechanical parts and switches (Skills, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Present the different functions of a bottom obstruction device in low and in lowest positions
Demonstrate how to perform a function test and adjustment of the bottom obstruction device: mechanical parts and switches, including the lowering limit switch
Facilitate practical training on testing and adjusting the bottom obstruction device: mechanical parts and switches
Provide feedback to the participants on their performance
The participants shall:
Engage in practice, share experiences, and apply the received feedback in following exercises
