Baseline Methodology: Households within ½ mile of frequent transit routes measure the number of residences located within a short walking distance of high-frequency transit services (transit with 15- minute service), indicating the accessibility of people to public transportation. The value is gathered from the ACS household numbers that are within the 1/2-mile buffer of frequent transit routes derived from Remix, a public transit planning software developed by Via.
5 Remix is a transit planning software that incorporates transit data such as ridership and origin-destination flow to provide interactive mapping, scenario-modeling, and scheduling tools to help the design and evaluate of transit networks and programs.
