project location
PROJECT OVERVIEW Limits : Wispy Trail to Chapel Creek Blvd Length : ~0.24 miles Proposed Cross Section : » Five 11’ travel lanes southern end
» Two-way Center Turn Lane » 6’ sidewalk southern end » 110’ right-of-way
EXISTING CONDITIONS • Current width varies from 55 to 57 feet within existing right-of-way. • Lacks adequate capacity for peak-hour volumes and future development traffic. • Inconsistent cross-section with missing sidewalks on the south side. • Intersection with Chapel Creek Boulevard experiences congestion and operational delays.
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS • Reconstruct as five 11-foot lanes , maintaining a center two-way left-turn lane. • Intersection reconfiguration at Chapel Creek Blvd to include dual left-turn lanes for northbound Chapel Creek traffic and a channelized right-turn lane for eastbound Chapin Road traffic. • Closed drainage system, new street lighting, and updated pavement markings.
