TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRES The regional tourist information centres are open during the summer season, where you will find all the necessary information you need to make your stay in Prescott and Russell as enjoyable as possible! The centres are located at: Casselman : 751 St-Jean, Casselman Vankleek Hill: Vankleek Hill Museum, Main St., K0B1R0 Chute-à-Blondeau: at the entrance of the province of Ontario on Highway 417
Known as Ontario’s easternmost gateway, the United Counties of Prescott & Russell are nestled between the Ottawa River and Highway 417, and between Ottawa and Montreal. Through its scenic rural landscapes and common agricultural yields of corn, soy, wheat, etc., things seem to slow to a relaxed pace, where you feel at peace and humbled by the sea of greens and yellows that sway with the winds. Driving down the 417 doesn’t give this place justice, but a slow ride through our vast expanse of country and riverside roads is enough to bring your fast-paced world to a halt... if only for a moment.
Our rich heritage and cultural background, from the blend of our Francophone and Anglophone roots, have created a melting pot of bilingualism and local pride that is unique, where both languages are commonly spoken, understood and valued by its community. This heritage is evident when you step into the region and take in our architecture and culture, or through a simple, colorful discussion with the locals. This pride is also reflected in how our businesses welcome passersby, their warmth and welcoming nature is ever present, they will blend over backwards to make certain that your experience is positive.
