O d 4. do 6. septembra dvorište Muzeja Ponišavlja u Piro- tu biće domaćin tradicionalne manifestacije posvećene očuvanju i promociji pirotskog ćilimarstva. Centralni deo događaja čini takmičarska izložba najlepših primeraka iz porodičnih kolekcija pod nazivom „Ćilim kao porodično nasle- đe“. Posetioci će tokom tri dana Festivala moći da prisustvuju i praktičnim radionicama tkanja, uz prateći kulturnoumetnič- ki program. Pirotski ćilim, prepoznatljiv po svojim specifičnim šarama i ornamentima od kojih svaki nosi posebno simbolično značenje i zaštitnu moć, predstavlja jedan od najvažnijih bren- dova srpske nematerijalne baštine. T he courtyard of Pirot’s Ponišavlja Museum will host the traditional event dedicated to the preservation and pro- motion of Pirot rugmaking from 4 th to 6 th September. The central part of the event is a competitive exhibition of the most beautiful examples from family collections under the title “Rugs as family heirlooms”. Over the course of this three-day festival, visitors will be able to attend practical weaving workshops and en- joy an accompanying cultural and artistic programme. The Pirot rug, which is recognisable thanks to its specific patterns and mo- tifs, each carrying a special symbolic meaning and protective pow- er, represents one of the most important brands of Serbia’s in- tangible heritage.
