ČEVLJARSTVO T o je domača in storitvena obrt za izdelovanje in popravilo obutve; po 1900 se je razvila tudi obutvena industrija. Najstarejša pričevanja o čevljarjih, kot samostojnih obrtnikih, so iz 15. stoletja. Center čevljarske obrti je bil Tržič, kjer je bilo tudi največ čevljarskih mojstrov in pozneje prva čevljarska tovarna Peko.
SHOEMAKING S hoemaking is a domestic and service craft for making and repairing footwear which was even more important before 1900 when also footwear industry finally developed. The oldest testimonies of shoemakers in Slovenia as independent craftsmen date back to the 15th century. The centre of the shoemaking craft was the town of Tržič where most masters of shoemaking lived and where also the first shoe factory, Peko, was founded.
