»Pri nas je bila klekljarica, ga. Nada. Kako klekljamo?

“A lace maker, Mrs Nada, visited us in our kindergarten. How to make lace?

You have to have bobbins (special short sticks) and a string, which needs to be coiled around each bobbin. Bobbins are then tied to the “bula” cushion. You create the design by crossing, twisting, braiding and interweaving the threads on the bobbins. There are two red and two white bobbins. Mrs Nada quickly made a pattern by braiding and interweaving the threads. Drawing pins fixate “papirc” (a paper showing the pattern and the instructions for each pattern) onto the “bula” cushion. Mrs Nada showed us how she made a horse- shaped lace, napkins, a heart-shaped lace, earrings, a necklace and a collar.”
