Beth Albert, Bombay State, India: “W e have completed the home for Biblewomen with storage room and garage and have almost completed modern accommodations for servants. Two young Indian Chris tians are continuing their preparation for service among their own people. Mr. Rob ert Londhe continues his medical scholar ship; the other, a former patient now well, has gone to Union Biblical Seminary in preparation for spiritual work among his own people.” Thais Good ’49, Sudan Interior Mission: “Addis Ababa is 565 kilometers to the north and again I am on the near periph ery of Ethiopia . . . At Sheshemane 85 Ethiopian teachers met for their training course. At Bishoftu we attended the bien nial teachers’ conference, emphasizing how to make our schools more indigenous and a greater help to the existing churches. At Woliso we visited with some of the school children, who showed real interest. W e also visited other stations including Dilia. Pray for these works.” Pearl Heath ’44 (Kenya Colony, A f rica) : “ This year has seen progress in many ways, though it seems slow. W e have now almost completed the G ill’s Hostel building, which will accommodate 64 girls. As this school year nears an end, we are preparing to move into the new quarters. We had a Girl’s Camp at Machakos last summer. Pray that we may have workers to carry on a similar program for the boys.” Al and Ruth (Wilder ’47) Rohrbaugh (Perugia, Italy): “ Getting settled in a new culture has been quite an experience for our family, but we have done it with some strain, some tears, some smiles, and much prayer. W e are studying the language at the University for Foreigners. Recently seven missionaries gathered in Naples for the first time to lay foundations for an over-all plan for our work. A decision was made to launch a book publication ministry while we are still in language study. We are praying for the Lord to lead us to win our first Italian soul to Christ.” George and Lillian Toensfeldt ’50 (La guna, Philippine Islands): “W e praise the Lord for the slow but steady growth of the believers in the two churches here and also for the six seminary students who so faith fully help each week with the many chil dren and adults. A ll around us we see peo ple who are religious but lost. Peace is desired by the world today. Can the people here in the Philippines and the world around experience true peace? Sure ly not apart from the Lord Jesus Christ.” John ’51 and Marjorie (AA ) Juntunen (Nebraska): “ It is wonderful that in days of unrest such as the world knows today Christ gives His peace to the hearts of those who put their trust in Him. W e have been called to pastor the New Hope Church, a small country church seventeen miles north of Gothenburg, Nebraska. We are very happy in the Lord’s work here for we know that this is His place for us.”
I N remote regions of the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Iran and East Africa, our missionaries perform their inspired tasks. However, all the glorious work of winning souls for Christ is not done on the frontiers. If you cannot become a missionary yourself, give your prayers and cooperation as contribution. Each of these is a token of your love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Only by our joint prayers and action will others find the Lord as their Saviour too.
