Participants will learn how to identify warning signs of both and how to effectively respond. Discussion regarding the impact of social media and how suicide and self-harm are portrayed in the media will be covered. Participants will learn what questions to ask someone who is self-harming and/or showing signs of suicidal behavior.

Weaving SEL into Everyday Practices SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL SUPPORTS

Participants will review how social emotional learning (SEL) will fit within their tiered system of supports and gain an understanding of the “what, why, and how” of SEL. They will be provided with evidence-based activities to support the five SEL competencies within their daily practice. Participants will also be introduced to free SEL curriculum that can be embedded within all tiers.
