Plus d’une centaine d’enfants et leur famille ont participé au dépouillement de l’arbre de Noël de Grenville-sur- la-Rouge, le 14 décembre dernier, au Centre communautaire Campbell. En plus de recevoir chacun un superbe cadeau offert par l’un des nombreux bénévoles et commanditaires, les enfants ont également eu la chance d’assister à une pièce de théâtre de la troupe du Baluchon magique. «Ce fut tout un succès et les enfants garderont de précieux souvenirs de cette journée», a confié le conseiller municipal, Robert D’Auzac. Le père Noël, la Fée des étoiles et ses duchesses ont animé la journée en compagnie des bénévoles et les familles peuvent maintenant célébrer les Fêtes dans la joie et le plaisir.

Du bon temps au Village du père Noël de Dalkeith
toute juste avant son grand départ en traîneau. Situé au cœur de la pépinière de Scherer Gardening, le village a ouvert ses portes au début de décembre et les lutins y travaillent fort pour offrir une foule d’activités aux visi- teurs. Randonnée en traîneau, conte des Fêtes en compagnie de mère Noël et du bon temps autour du feu avec les lutins, la magie de Noël est dans l’air. «Les enfants ont adoré pouvoir nourrir les bébés cerfs et griller des guimauves sur
le feu, a déclaré Hannah Stevens, une visi- teuse. J’ai vu des gens profiter de leur visite pour aller couper leur sapin avec les lutins. Being a chef is a calling
The next step for Wood Wood has taught courses at Algonquin College as well as The Urban Element on wine pairing. “I taught food and wine mat- ching,” Wood explained. “Wine has to en- hance the food and food has to enhance the wine. It is not just pairing, but enhancing the flavours of both. Finding that perfect match is really sublime.” Wood has a few words of wisdom for someone just starting out. “You just have to be prepared to work really, really hard, ridi- culously hard. There are a lot of long hours and hard shifts. Friends are out partying and you have to work. But it is also incredibly rewarding.” “I can see this job lasting quite a while, but it’s probably the last actual kitchen job I will have,” described Wood. “I’m about 10 years away from what is normally conside- red retirement.” Wood said he’d like to do some consulting, writing and teaching. “I have come from the frenetic world of restau- rants to a much quieter place,”he said.“Steve (Beauchesne) wants us to write a cook book.”

After working for his father and his uncle as a painter, Wood knew painting wasn’t for him. “I did not like it at all, so I quit,” Wood recalled. “A friend called and said there was an apprenticeship at a restaurant and asked if I wanted it. I said yes.” Wood com- pleted a formal apprenticeship and learned everything from how to hold a knife to how to make proper stocks and soups. From big and small restaurants, as well as catering and a few other things, Wood has taken his trade all over. He owned a restau- rant in B.C., and has helped others along the way. “I was the first chef at Mariposa in Plantagenet,” said Wood. “I lived on the farm and worked in the restaurant. It was great.” Wood believes in giving back to the com- munity he lives in. “That’s what I like about Beau’s. They are ethical and sustainable,” Wood explained. “If I want you to come into my restaurant, I should support your busi- ness, which is exactly what Beau’s does. It’s an amazing place to work on every level.”

La Fondation de l'Hôpital Général de Hawkesbury (HGHF) mobilise et inspire des bénévoles et partenaires à soutenir l’HGH dans sa volonté de maintenir des soins de santé de haute qualité ainsi que des équipements à la fine pointe de la technologie. Nous sommes présentement à la recherche d’une personne dynamique et expérimentée. Relevant du directeur exécutif de la fondation et indirectement de l’agente de développement, le titulaire du poste est responsable de la réception, de l’administration de la base de données ainsi que des fonctions générales d’administration. Si vous aimez travailler dans un environnement qui évolue rapidement, orienté sur les besoins des donateurs et que vous possédez de l’expérience, nous serions heureux de vous accueillir dans notre équipe. Expérience et compétences: - 3 ans d’expérience en bureautique avec un diplôme d’études postsecondaires et; - Expérience en gestion de base de données, préférablement dans le secteur des organismes de charité et; - Expérience à fournir un soutien administratif à plusieurs superviseurs et; - Excellent sens de l’organisation, de la gestion du temps et du souci du détail et ; - Posséder du tact et de la diplomatie lors des interactions avec le public, les donateurs et le personnel de l’hôpital et; - Excellent service à la clientèle et; - Compétences en rédaction avec une attention à la grammaire, le style et la précision et; - Compétences avancées en administration et des logiciels tels queWord, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Access et; - Bilinguisme est essentiel Salaire: 35 000$ à 40 000$ par année Contrat de deux ans avec possibilité de renouvellement Si vous avez le profil recherché ci-haut mentionné, s.v.p. nous faire parvenir votre curriculum vitae ainsi qu’une une lettre de présentation indiquant comment vous pensez contribuer à notre équipe en tant qu’adjoint(e) administratif (ve) d’ici le 7 janvier 2015.
The Hawkesbury General Hospital Foundation (HGHF) mobilizes and inspires community volunteers and donors to support the HGH in his will to maintain a high standard of health care as well as state-of-the-art equipments of the technology. We are currently searching for an enthusiastic and experienced candidat. Reporting to the Executive Director (ED) and indirectly to the Development Officer (DO), the Administrative Assistant is responsible for reception duties, database administration and general administrative functions.

Desired skills and experience: • 3 years office administration experience with a recognized college/university degree; • Exceptional administrative and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access); • Database management experience, preferably in a non-profit environment; • Experience providing administrative support to multiple supervisors; • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail; • Tact, diplomacy and maturity in dealing with the public (donors, volunteers, hospital staff, general public); • Outstanding customer service skills; • Strong writing skills with attention to grammar, style and accuracy ; and • Bilingualism is essential. Salary Range: $35,000 to $40,000 annually. This is a two year contract position with the possibility of renewal.
