Marie 613- 764-5351 Conduite avec facultés affaiblies Le 18 juillet, des agents de la Police provinciale de l’Ontario (PPO), détachement de Russell, ont intercepté un motocycliste sur la route 17 à Clarence-Rockland, pour une infraction au Code de la route. Une odeur d’alcool a été détectée chez le conducteur. Celui-ci a échoué à un premier alcootest. Il a été transporté au poste de police. D’autres tests ont également déterminé que le taux d’alcoolémie était supérieur à la limite permise. Glen D. Morrisey, âgé de 50 ans, d’Ottawa, devra répondre à une accusation de conduite avec un taux d’alcoolémie supérieur à 80 milligrammes. Toujours sur la route 17, le 19 juillet, les policiers ont répondu à un appel signalant une conduite dangereuse. Le conducteur a été retracé alors qu’il tentait de regagner son véhicule. L’individu a échoué à l’alcootest. Daniel Pilon, âgé de 26 ans, d’Alfred- Plantagenet, a été accusé de conduite avec un taux d’alcoolémie supérieur à 80 milligrammes. Menaces Un homme de 19 ans, de Rockland, devra répondre à diverses accusations à la suite d’une dispute. Le 14 juillet, des policiers se sont rendus à une résidence de l’avenue Belvédère, à Rockland. Sur les lieux, un homme et une femme étaient engagés dans une dispute lorsque la femme a été agressée et menacée par l’homme. La police n’a pas dévoilé le nom de l’inculpé. Celui-ci devra répondre à des accusations de voies de fait (deux chefs), de séquestration et d’avoir proféré des menaces de causer la mort ou des lésions corporelles (deux chefs). Harcèlement Le 14 juillet, des agents de la PPO ont répondu à un cas de harcèlement survenu sur la route 500 Ouest, à Casselman. À cet endroit, une femme a rapporté avoir reçu plusieurs appels téléphoniques de son ex-partenaire. Un homme âgé de 43 ans, de Crysler, devra répondre à une accusation de harcèlement criminel (deux chefs).

De fait, la salle était bien remplie pour la deuxième représentation. Le maire de Casselman, Claude Levac, était également venu apprécier les talents de ce théâtre d’été. «J’ai bien aimé ça, entre autres, parce que c’est une reproduction de ce que le monde a vécu souvent pendant la guerre. C’est une perception un peu nouvelle également parce qu’on parle rarement de l’apport des femmes dans cette guerre», a confié M. Levac. Il s’agit d’une quatrième production estivale pour le Théâtre la Barouette. Cette année, la pièce est mise en scène par Éric Perron, jeune metteur en scène de la relève franco-ontarienne. More transparency for Champlain LHIN The Champlain LHIN wants anyone in Eastern Ontario to have the same ac- cess to all the reports presented at its board meetings as the directors them- selves have. The board of directors for the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) approved a recommen- dation for a new addition to the LHIN’s website. In future all reports scheduled for presentation at the board of direc- tors’ regular meetings will be posted on the Champlain LHIN website in advance of the meeting itself. The documents will be available in both French and English. The Champlain LHIN website is at www. champlainlhin.on.ca.The Champlain LHIN manages health services and programs, including provincial funding allocations, for the City of Ottawa, the Five Counties region, Renfrew County, and the northern portions of Lanark and Grenville counties. WDMH featured at international conference Marcia Foster,Winchester and District Me- morial Hospital’s Continuing Education Specialist, spotlighted the hospital’s Heal- thy Workplace program at the internatio- nal WilliamGlasser Conference held July 9 to 13 inToronto.“It was a great opportuni- ty to showcaseWDMH and our wonderful care team,” said Foster. “I was honoured to be one of the presenters.”Marcia’s presen- tation highlighted a pilot program being rolled out to staff at WDMH which streng- thens positive collaborative culture. “It focuses on working together in an envi- ronment of respect and compassion to ensure the well-being of staff and the resulting quality outcomes for patients,” she said. The conference and the healthy workplace program focus on the Choice Theory developed by Dr. William Glasser. It helps people better understand them- selves and better manage the events and people in their lives, by understanding that the only behavior they can control is their own. “There are great things hap- pening here in Winchester and we are proud that Marcia was able to share our story with such a diverse audience at the conference,” said Cholly Boland, CEO. The Cumberland Grads hope some of their fans can make room for them this season and not just on the calendar. The junior A hockey club needs billets for their out-of-town players to stay at when the 2014-2015 season starts. The Grads management always tries to provide the best living arrangements possible as part of the club’s package for attracting the best potential players in the annual junior A draft. Billet families receive compensa- tion in return for providing a temporary home for a player. The Grads club pays $85 per week towards living expenses for each player billeted and also provides season tickets to the Grads home games to every billet family.
