HOUSE & ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE
JUDGE TAMARA W. ASHFORD, CHAIR The focus of the House & Entertainment (H&E) Committee is to enhance/maximize the member experience by setting priorities, policy, and guidance, and doing so by working collaboratively with our exceptional clubhouse, restaurant, food & beverage, and catering & banquet teams led by Directors of Clubhouse Operations Andrew Welch (Arlington) and Michael Palamara (Fairfax), and Executive Chefs Doug Anderson (Arlington) and Andrew Powers (Fairfax). With that focus in mind, the 2024-2025 year was a superb one for the H&E Committee and these teams! ______________ Below is a snapshot of the record-setting year H&E had in terms of members served and revenue generated. ANCC Restaurants. Over approximately the past 12 months we served over 305,000 members and guests generating close to $12,060,000 in revenue, with Fairfax accounting for approximately 11% of this combined revenue. Member Events. Our traditional events, Halloween/Fall Fest Pumpkin Patch, Thanksgiving, Holiday seasonal events, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, served over 11,000 members and guests. This past Independence Day both campuses served over 4,150 members and guests combined, and Rooftop Happy Hours, Burger and Taco Nights, and our themed events (i.e., Halloween/Fall Fest Pumpkin Patch, Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, Pub Night Trivia, Family Trivia, Scotch & Cigars/Bourbon, BBQ & Cigars/Tequila, Rum & Cigars, Author Series, Family Bingo, High Tea, Hops ‘n Harvest, Maev’s Celtic Christmas Holiday Concert, Taste of the Region, Ladies' Night Out!, Cars & Coffee, Summer Patio BBQs) had over 11,500 members and guests attend. We held 17 events for Wine Club members, including dinners, receptions, tastings, and wine educations with a total of 2,480 members and guests attending. The Club also celebrated its Centennial in 2024, and we marked the occasion in numerous ways. The highlight event was our Centennial Celebration held at each clubhouse in November. In Arlington, members journeyed “Through the Decades” experiencing a Jazz Lounge, Speakeasy, Classic Diner, Mess Hall, Barracks, Candy Shop, and a Roaring Twenties ballroom. Fairfax was turned into a 1950’s Diner to celebrate a time when Rock n’ Roll originated in America…dancing shoes were requisite! A grand time was had by all at both clubhouses! Catering and Banquets. Our Club booked an amazing average of 224 events per month generating $6,226,000 in catering revenue. Between 31 July 2025 and 31 October 2025, both campuses anticipate generating an additional $4,015,000 in catering revenue. ______________ Of course, never one to “rest on our laurels” we added some new H&E events during 2024-2025 including Build a Bear Tea, Roaring Twenties Casino Night, and Stars, Stripes & Southern Nights (the latter two events having been created by our summer interns) in Arlington, and Tortilla Tuesdays in Fairfax. ______________ During 2024-2025, at Fairfax, the Mixed Grille Bar underwent a successful “refresh,” and military seals were added to the clubhouse lobby.
