FITNESS & WELLNESS COMMITTEE

MS. BEVERLY WINSTON, CHAIR

I am pleased to report that 2025 has brought a number of improvements to an already excellent Fitness & Wellness Program, including innovations in programming to augment a traditional core class schedule and upgrades in the weight-training equipment. These measures combined with a talented staff of trainers and instructors have made 2025 another successful year. Performance: In 2025, we have refreshed our approach to group fitness programming by transitioning select offerings from the traditional schedule of standing classes to structured, limited-time series. These offerings are built around a core class schedule of approximately nine different classes, including strength training, cardio step, and yoga. The shift to the series concept allows us to deliver a more targeted and results-driven experience through specialized programs designed with progressive formats and dedicated instructor support. By operating these classes as standalone series, members benefit from continuity, accountability, and a more cohesive community dynamic. This evolution enhances member engagement while providing greater flexibility and scalability in how we deliver premium group fitness experiences. It also allows members to attend classes without a month-long commitment. Popular special programs such as Strength and Balance for Osteoporosis and Pilates for Pelvic Health have seen strong participation, highlighting the success of this personalized approach. Other offerings have included cardio-kickboxing and self-defense training for different ages groups, and runners’ strength and mobility. While fitness classes continue to engage members who are motivated by a group experience, the Fitness & Wellness Center remains the foundation of our program where members can work with trainers or on their own to pursue their fitness goals. We are continuing to meet member needs through improvements to the weight training equipment and access to highly trained personal trainers. All Army Navy trainers are qualified generalists, and many of them have additional expertise that allows them to meet members’ needs. Many golfers at the club are aware of the Titleist Performance Institute training available, but lesser known may be the availability of agility
