1. General

The post requires the managerial background and experience necessary to provide professional, technical and strategic advice at a senior management level within UCL, to identify and implement opportunities for improvement and the management of change. Formal qualification in an engineering/construction/ project management discipline and to membership level of relevant professional body. A degree level education plus a post graduate management qualification. Relevant experience in a project and programme leadership role with responsibility for procuring and managing major capital projects: - in excess of £50m in value. - in live, physically congested, high public footfall urban environments. Strategic planning including sourcing options and procurement for major capital programmes. Strong knowledge and experience of contract management and procurement, cost management and budgeting and supply chain management. In depth experience of managing capital construction projects of at least ten years relevant post-qualification experience gained working for large multi-site organisations. Relevant experience working in a senior position for a large organisation. Business management demonstrating sound commercial awareness. A track record of delivering high quality customer service. Budget management and analysis.

Experience of delivering projects within HE sector or comparable.
