STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless steel corrugated hose core is constructed from grades 316 or 321 austenitic stainless steel and formed into annular corrugations. The hose is then over braided with either single or double braided option, depending on operating pressures. The braid is constructed using closely woven grade 304 or 316 stainless wire.

HOSE ASSEMBLIES Our stainless steel hose assemblies are available in a wide range of bore sizes and lengths. We manufacture hose assemblies to individual customer requirements and they can be fitted with a wide range of end connections. All stainless steel hose assemblies we manufacture are in accordance with BS EN ISO 10380:2012

STAINLESS STEEL OVER BRAID We have available in stock a full range of stainless steel over braid in 304 and 316 grades. Our range of over braid is ideal for added protection to all types of hose assemblies such as hydraulic and industrial rubber and plastic hose assemblies.

HOSE ASSEMBLIES PTFE is renowned as the most chemically resistant material known. Only a very few aggressive materials can affect it. PTFE lined hoses can therefore be used for a wider variety of chemicals than any other hose type, making it the ideal choice for very corrosive chemical applications and multi-product applications.
SMOOTH BORE PTFE HOSE Virgin Smooth bore PTFE Hose is available with a single or double stainless steel braid 304 or 316 grade. Anti-static smooth bore is also available for applications where there is a risk of static build up from the product. Bore sizes range from 1/8 to 1”nb. And a full range of end connections are available. CONVOLUTED PTFE HOSE Virgin Convoluted PTFE lined hose gives excellent flexibility and is available with stainless steel or a polymer outer braid. As with the smooth bore this hose is available in an anti static option.
Bore sizes range from 1/4 to 4”nb and a full range of end connections are available. TAPE WRAPPED PTFE HOSE This product is an option to convoluted PTFE hose where a higher pressure may be required. Bore sizes from 1/4 to 2” NB, with a full range of end connections available. PTFE LINED TAFTED HOSE ASSEMBLIES PTFE Lined tafted hose assemblies are manufactured by ADT and are excellent for use in the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical and food industries as they are engineered to a high standard
and are superior option to rubber hose assemblies for certain applications. Bore sizes are available up to 6” bore. A large selection of end terminations are available.

FOOD GRADE HOSE ASSEMBLIES All our food grade hose assemblies can be manufactured with a full range of hygienic end connections including Triclover, RJT, DIN, SMS, IDF, ILS etc. Due to our welding / fabrication facility we are also available to offer non standard hose ends such as fabricated 45/90 degree bends, dip tubes, tee’s, crosses etc.
RUBBER FOOD HOSE All our rubber food hose is FDA approved as a minimum and is available with various linings dependent on application. These include NR, SBR, NBR, EPDM, and CBR food quality rubbers. These types of rubber food hose assemblies are typically used to transfer foodstuffs such as alcohol, animal and vegetable oils, milk products, fruit juices and potable water. SILICONE HYGIENIC HOSE Supplied as standard or Platinum cured Silicone, widely used in food
and beverage market as well as the pharmacuetical sector. The silicone hose assemblies offer a very high standard of cleanliness, flexability and increased temperature range over the rubber food hose assemblies. As with the Food hose assemblies the same range of hygienically swaged ends can be offered (see above). Available in sizes from 1/4”nb to 4”nb. PVC FOOD HOSE High quality PVC food hose is available and suitable for many applications involving the transfer of many different
foodstuffs. Available with a Steel or plastic spiral reinforcement and or textile braided reinforcement
depending on application. Size range 1/4”nb to 8”nb
POLYURETHANE FOOD GRADE DUCTING
Suitable for the transfer of foodstuffs such as sugar, grain, flour, animal feeds and dry foodstuffs. Excellent flexability and resistance to abrasive food stuffs. Available with an anti-static option and sizes up to 16”nb.

HOSE TESTING
Pirtek provides much more than just the 24-7 on-site hose repair service that it is famed for. One of its additional services is the certified testing of hoses to very high pressures. Pirtek is able to test individual hoses to BS 7751 and ISO 1402, satisfying the highest industrial standards. Our SLU hose test rigs are capable of testing hoses to at least 24,000 psi and producing the detailed certification to prove it. Documents generated by the system link the numbered hose to the personnel and date-stamped test on the calibrated and certified test rig.
This rigorous documentation is particularly significant to safety critical industries such as oil, gas and pharmaceuticals. A Pirtek pressure test is the gold standard. Safety is key and hoses are tested behind ‘bulletproof’ polycarbonate screens. Shorter hoses are assessed within the test rig itself whilst there is the capacity to test longer hoses in a larger safe zone within the premises, behind polycarbonate screens and microswitch-locked doors. Not only are those who ultimately work with the hoses safe, but those who tested them are too.

As businesses seek to reduce operating costs by outsourcing non-core activities, Pirtek’s Total Hose Management solution is becoming UK industry’s preferred service option. TOTAL HOSE MANAGEMENT Companies have long recognised the benefits of concentrating on their main business activities whilst using specialist suppliers to take over non core services. A good example of this is the supply of hoses for industry. Should a hose failure shut the production line in a chemical plant, the downtime costs and lost production can run into thousands.
TAGGING SYSTEM Worn hoses often do not show external damage which makes pre-failure changeout difficult. Hoses that reach the end of their productive lives simply blow-out causing unwanted downtime and often, environmentally damaging spills. Brightly coloured tags, applied when Pirtek hoses are assembled, record the hose age, components used and the contact number of the original Pirtek centre. Therefore, when a hose is installed, its productive life can often be assessed and scheduled for replacement before failure occurs. Contamination is a major contributing cause of reduced efficiency and even machinery failure. A new generation of hose cleaning technology has been developed by Pirtek to ensure protection against contamination and help prevent costly breakdowns and downtime. MOBILE SERVICE UNITS Each Pirtek Centre is equipped to provide rapid response site service to each of its customers in the field.
Mobile units are workshops with equipment and stocks to cater for the breakdown demands of the customer. The Mobile Units operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Where customer volumes are significant Pirtek may “dedicate” one or more mobile units to the specific plant. HUMAN RESOURCES The Pirtek Outsourcing Programme allows companies to release essential personnel for other duties. Pirtek is committed to its training programme and holds the INVESTOR IN PEOPLE award. All technicians employed by Pirtek Centres are City and Guild trained and their role often expands beyond hose making to involve system plumbing, tube bending and installation work.
