The location is conveniently accessible to most major arteries in order to get product to stores easily.”

At the Caton Research Center facility, Baltimore Dog Bakery is filled with the smell of cinnamon, along with profes- sional grade equipment. Staff handle the production and packaging for the surrounding area at the same facility. “As a baker, I have some special needs,” Wagner said. “St. John Properties allowed me to put an oven ventilation system in and made sure I had access to loading docks, which are essential to a wholesaler. I was able to utilize St. John Properties’ construction team to do all of the work that needed to be completed before we could move in and start production.”

We installed counters and cabinets throughout the entire clinic, and a wall of desks and bookshelves in the doctors’ office. We subdivided another room into an anteroom and three isolation units. We then did a lot of painting, wallpapering and decorating (all cat-themed, of course) throughout the clinic.” Where starting with a blank slate may have overwhelmed other businesses,

When deciding where to lease space, hospital staff had a few specific factors they were looking for. “We decided on our current space because it was a fairly centralized location in a busy shopping plaza,” Dr. Ashley said. “The space was also formerly a veterinary office, so we had the shell to build upon and were also able to make it our own.” The spacious property offers everything Lake Shore Pet Hospital needs to provide outstanding care to pets and pet owners. “Lake Shore Pet Hospital has three exam rooms, a large treatment area equipped

with a surgical suite, radiation room, pharmacy, and more,” Dr. Ashley said. “With this space, we are able to accom- modate new and existing clients as well as drop off visits. Our staff consists of four veterinarians, a practice manager, four receptionists, and a growing technical staff.” Fortunately for the busy pet hospital, the team at St. John Properties makes it easy for the pet professionals to focus on patients. hold many large fundraisers for our clients such as our annual Paws & Claus Event where hundreds of clients come to get professional photos of their pets with Santa as well as buy gifts from local vendors who set up their tables in our warehouse,” Reed said. Woofie’s space is divided into office areas, a conference room and a secured area. The rest of the space is a warehouse and garage for the mobile grooming fleet, grooming product inventory and other gear. “We had very specific needs in order to store our mobile grooming vans inside the warehouse and St. John was very flexible and accommodating,” Reed said. “For example, we needed multiple drains built into the floor so we could safely and easily dump water from the grooming vans at the end of each day. We also had specific water and electrical needs, and they were able to accommodate all of our requests.” Today, Woofie’s faces new challenges. “With the new COVID-19 environment we all find ourselves in, we pivoted our business and started offering Fetch concierge services for those clients who are unable or uncomfortable with leaving

their homes to run errands,” Reed said. “We also now offer curbside grooming services for those clients who want to bring their pets to us and stay inside their cars while we do nail trims and other grooming services. “Woofie’s is not a traditional brick-and- mortar business,” Reed said. “Many landlords would have been turned off by working with a pet services company. They not only took us on as a tenant, but they have been extremely supportive every step of the way especially now when COVID-19 has dramatically impacted our company. They clearly take great care of their employees and that naturally extends to the care they give to their tenants.”
