Hello Readers!

Happy women empowerment month !

Women's Empowerment is the process of providing women with all of the rights and

amenities available in society so that they can live freely and without fear or limitation. Women should be granted the same rights as men in society, with no gender discrimination. Women's empowerment is desperately required in today's cultures. It is critical for women's self-esteem as for society. Women have the right to participate equally in education, society, the economy, and politics. Women may participate in society because they have the freedom to select their religion, language, employment, and other activities.

THAKKAR CEO PERFECT TAX/ CEO FUNASIA (RETAIL & TAX DIVISION/ ENTERTAINMENT AND MEDIA)

Vaishali moved to the US from Gujarat, India in 2003 with an accounting degree. Thereafter, she finished her taxation and ongoing studies and completed management courses at University of Texas, Dallas. Later, she joined her father-in-law Mr. Mahesh Thakkar, in their tax business. With sheer hard work and desire to learn and embrace challenges, she successfully led the team and grew in her role to become the CEO of Perfect Tax in 2017 and Funasia in 2022 QUESTION 02 Apart from this, she wants to open a dance school because dancing has been Vaishali’s passion since childhood. She trained in How did you start your journey as an entrepreneur? QUESTION 01 Bharatnatyam under Mrinalini Sarabhai and even gave her arangetram. QUESTION 03 Sam Thakkar – Sam Thakkar is the CEO of Perfect Group of Companies and Vaishali’s business and life partner. He is the yin to her yang. Either is incomplete without the other. Despite being each other’s better halves, Vaishali is amazed at Sam’s dedication and vision. Who is your inspiration in life? QUESTION 04 In her opinion, team spirit drives Funasia and Perfect Tax to scale new heights. The team constantly discusses the path they want to be on and help each other get on it and make it successful. Recent events, New Year’s and Garbha Night are notable examples of this team spirit. Despite COVID there has been a huge turnout and both the events have been equally successfully carried out by the team that worked and works tirelessly to bring the community together. This speaks volumes about Funasia’s future endeavors as a team. What goals you set for yourself and your businesses every day to accomplish?

QUESTION 05

How do you manage such a massive empire?

We’ve got wonderful team in Funasia Entertainment and Perfect Tax, who always give their best. The idea of managing is just being kind and empathetic. This is how I believe empires soar when you know you can lean on each other. That is what I try to inculcate through my behavior and attitude. People do have low moments, and in such times, they need to seek help and talk about it and that is what makes her happy – being there for people and being with people. Because we are all humans at the end of the day and at the least, we can give to the society is kindness which all of us have in abundance.

While at home, it does make sense for her to carry the burden of work. Particularly when both the spouses are in the same business, there are times when discussions are about work. Vaishali brings this balance, prioritizing her kid’s needs.

Role of the Women in building up a Creative Society

By Huma Kirmani

Oh March ! I’m the Woman Once Shy and Quiet Now I Know

There is always light behind the Clouds. Hath not ambitious for splendid Fortune As Contentment is better than Fortune.

“Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. And they’ve got ambition, and they’ve got talent, as well as just beauty. I’m so sick of people saying that love is all a woman is fit for.” (Quote from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott) The Roman kept the names of their gods Greek, the month of March, named after the Roman god Mars, would maybe now be called Ares. William Shakespeare in his ‘Julius Caesar ‘featured a character of the soothsayer who told Caesar, ‘Beware the Ides of March.’ The month of March is to celebrate the empowerment of women, to disperse awareness amongst the women to know their power and rights of survival. There have been magnificent enlightenment of the women across the borders who created the history and lit their candles to fight against the darkness with the incessant hard work of making the world to acknowledge the feminism as not a fantasy but the reality which cannot be denied. ‘Mother Teresa of Pakistan’ late Dr. Ruth pfau , the victim of World War ll , when her younger brother died due to the deprivation of medical facilities, she wanted to be a doctor , later she committed to serve humanity as considering the work of God . She came to Pakistan and battled against Leprosy, a disfiguring and stigmatizing ailment of Leprosy. She initiated the campaign that leprosy is a mild contagious bacterial disease which can be cured; she joined the Marie Adelaide Leprosy Center in the slums of Karachi, and became the savior of lepers in Pakistan. Hanan al-Hroub, the Palestinian refugee and the world’s best teacher, like a fairytale, in March 2016 found herself in the headlines of the Guardian to the New York Times, she grew up in the refugee camp. As being declared the best teacher, she was awarded with the sum of $1 million, which helped her to set up a non profit organization to facilitate the teachers to seek initiative and creativity, to improve methodologies in teaching. The lady extended her empathy to care for cancer patients as well. Another north star is awe inspiring Bisque’s Bano Edhi, who as a professional nurse and philanthropist, has been working dedicatedly as serving for six decades to serve humanity. She has received the accolade of ‘Person of the Decade ‘from United Nations; the most impactful person of the first two decades of the 21st century. Her empathy and compassion have saved infinite number of unwanted infants by placing cradles in Edhi Centers which has met intense criticism from the extremism which accuses her as continuing a non – Muslim practice but such allegations couldn’t cease her devotion to serve humanity. The voice of the sufferers, the caged bird legacy, Maya Angelou , who is remembered as an American poet ,an author, educationist who raised her voice as a civil rights advocate , quite inspired by Martin Luther King. Her poem ‘ Still I Rise ‘ represents the indomitable passion of colored folks, being having the hard faith of the glorified triumph despite of intense adversities and racial discrimination. Rosalind Elsie Franklin, a British molecular biologist whose amazing contribution is to discover molecular structure of DNA; she is the founder of structural virology.

The galaxy of bright stars will remain incomplete of we wouldn’t include the magnificent tennis star Sania Mirza, who achieved six Grand Slam titles from 2003 until her retirement from singles in 2013, she was ranked by the Women’s Tennis Association as India’s No. 1 player. Benazir Bhutto, the first ever elected female prime minister, the youngest prime minister elected in the Islamic world. She was brilliant, bold and brave but assassinated untimely which left a grave impression in the history of Pakistan. The United States strongly condemns this cowardly act by murderous extremists who are trying to undermine Pakistan’s democracy,” President Bush said from his ranch near Crawford, “Those who committed this crime must be brought to justice.” “I will try and be what he loves to call me, ‘a little woman,’ and not be rough and wild; but do my duty here instead of wanting to be somewhere else.” (Quote from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott) The history is evident of inspirational women who deserve celebration, as they steadfastly

strove to assert their individuality gracefully, to defy the world as, ‘I will not be triumphed over though the best is yet to come!’

The Chronicle of Pakistan Day The Muslims of the Subcontinent struggled to achieve freedom from the tyranny of the British and conspiracies of the Hindus. It was a long journey to make the dream of the poet of east , Allama Iqbal our national poet as a reality . Monday, 29 December 1930, Allahabad, British India , there was a session of All India Muslim League, where Iqbal delivered the historical address during the 25th annual session of the All-India Muslim League , to preside over the deliberations of the All-India Muslim League at one of the most critical moments in the history of Muslim political thought and activity in India. Iqbal stated in the presidential address to see the Punjab, North-West Frontier Province, Sind and Baluchistan into a single State. Self-government within the British Empire, or without the British Empire, the formation of a consolidated North-West Indian Muslim State appeared to him to be the final destiny of the Muslims, at least of North-West India.

The same year , Simon Commission report recommended establishment of representative government in Provinces of India. The commission arrived in British India in 1928 to study constitutional reform in Britain’s largest and most important possession. In this context it is necessary to understand Iqbal’s address in Allahabad who was building a case for a multicultural society with an emphasis on Muslim majority but the major problem which the Indian Muslim community faced was ‘perfect leadership’ and ‘factionalism’. The majority of the Hindus and the British thought that the Muslims of the Subcontinent would never be able to redraw British India’s map, considering it as a futile effort. In 1913 , Muhammad Ali Jinnah joined the All India Muslim League, he had been an active member of the Congress for some years ; Jinnah gave up all hope of reconciliation with the Congress. His politics took a more definite turn towards separation. Now or Never! Were we to live or perish forever? It was taken as the victory of the Muslims of the subcontinent that Muhammad Ali Jinnah came back from the UK and started re-organizing the All India Muslim League. Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all three. #Sîtanley Wolpert Jinnah of Pakistan All-India Muslim League planned as nothing will be acceptable to the Muslims unless it is designed on the basic principles based on geographical units where the Muslims are numerically in a majority. The moment of the truth that Muslims and Hindus are two dominion states which has to be finally resolute. Politics was taking a different turn. March 19, 1940, the police opened fire on the Khaksars in Lahore, killing a number of them and wounding many others. Five days later, the All-India Muslim League was going to pass Lahore and Khaksar Resolutions during its historic session in Lahore. British India , Lahore on March 19,1940 , the British Government in the Punjab decided to ban all the paramilitary organizations in the Punjab and stopped the Muslims from parading in public and also from wearing military uniform. Khaksars refused to obey the directives and decided to hold their military parade in the area of Bhati Gate. When police tried to disperse the rebels, they resisted and clashed with the police. It resulted in the killing of around 50 Khaksars and many other were injured. The atmosphere of Lahore was tense.

Sir Sikandar Hayat, a Unionist leader and the then the Chief Minister of the Punjab, tried to persuade Quaid-i-Azam to postponed the Lahore session of the Muslim League but failed to convince the latter. March 19 and 20 , 1940 , Lahore was essentially operating under emergency laws; the government imposed a curfew, censored the news, and banned public processions and speeches. Shops were forcefully closed and section 144, which prohibited the gathering of five or more persons in any street, lane, or public place within the limits of the Lahore Municipality was highly enforced. Quaid-i-Azam, reached Lahore on March 21, and went straight from the railway station to Mayo Hospital to enquire about the health of the wounded Khaksars. By doing so Quaid-i-Azam handled the controversial issue well and without annoying the Khaksars managed to hold the Muslim League session on the planned date and time. The Punjab Police Intelligence had also appreciated Jinnah’s tactics and farsightedness. Sikander Hayat reached the railway station to greet him but Jinnah’s expressions were stern and he ignored him. Due to section 144, Jinnah postponed the procession as not to violate law and order situation in Lahore. The people in thousands were waiting for their leader outside the Railway Station at Lahore, while the streets were decorated to show love and devotion for Jinnah who was requested by a group of students to let them enter without tickets as they were not having money. Jinnah smiled and allowed the students to enter Minto Park,Lahore. In the first session held on 22nd March 1940 presided over by Quaid-i-Azam, Nawab Shah Nawaz Khan Mamdot rejected the political system which had established authority of the Hindus in internal and the British in external affairs. The spiritual, financial, cultural, social and political differences between the Muslims and non-Muslims were fundamental and deep-rooted which had maintained the dividing line between the two throughout the centuries. After experiencing a close interaction of thousand years, both the communities never merged into each other and continued to remain separate and distinct. Merely the democratic constitution could not unite them forcibly. Binding them to such a system was an un-natural and artificial effort of the British in the guise of the democratic system. Today, Pakistan is not a dream , it has carved into a reality! Once a strategy, it then became the only destiny for over 200 million people. The Lahore resolution was named as Pakistan Resolution by its opponents, mostly Hindus newspapers highlighted the resolution as the conspiracy to divide India as Pakistan. Minar-e-Pakistan, an Iconic Monument in Lahore to commemorate Lahore Resolution ,it has the impression of the eyes which longed , which dreamt to the creation of Pakistan. On this day, let’s find out what actually was proposed in the Pakistan Resolution, let’s revisit the document in today’s circumstances and rethink. Have we done enough to achieve what was envisioned by our founding fathers for people living in Pakistan? The Journey goes on as Pakistan is the land of Dilbars and Dilawars Happy Pakistan Day

International Day of happiness

20th March -2022

Do you want to live a life filled with happiness and inner peace? I am sure you do. You might think it is tough and impossible, and that a life of happiness and peace requires particular circumstances. This is not so. There is no right time. Every day is the right time. Material possessions, money and fame, might bring temporary happiness and inner peace, but true happiness and inner peace come from within you. They do not depend on your possessions, status or circumstances. Happiness and peace also come through simple things you love, such as reading a good book, being with friends you love, traveling, or a hobby. You can enjoy many moments of peace every day, when you do small, simple things you love. To bring happiness and peace to support others into your life you need to act, not just dream about them.

Recognized as day of happiness

The General Assembly of the United Nations in its resolution 66/281 of 12 July 2012 proclaimed 20 March the International Day of Happiness recognizing the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings around the world and the importance of their recognition. International Day of Happiness – 20 March March 20th is the UN International Day of Happiness. With our world facing unprecedented challenges, wellbeing matters more than ever. Don’t worry – be happy! March 20th has been established as the annual International Day of Happiness and all 193 United Nations member states have adopted a resolution calling for happiness to be given greater priority. This campaign is a global celebration to mark the United Nations International Day of Happiness. A holiday called International Day of Happiness may sound a bit infantile to the uninitiated. … The ultimate goal of the movement is to spread awareness that progress is not only about increasing bottom lines and encouraging economic growth, but well-being and human happiness as well. Holiday on the International Day of Happiness

Idea of international week of happiness

In 2011, Jayme Ilene proposed the idea of the International Day of Happiness at the United Nations General Assembly. He wanted the United Nations General Assembly to promote Happiness economics around the world by improving the economic development of all countries. The majority of people are confused about the difference between happiness and peace of mind. If the average person is asked what they want in life their answer will be happy. Far fewer people respond that they want inner peace. These two states of mind are certainly closely related, and yet they are different and independent. Here we will take a look at the differences between happiness and peace of mind.

So do pledge of yourself … Give someone in need. Give love to everyone Give respect to someone lower then you. Give your 100% in everything you do Give chance to humanity Give time to someone Give kind words Pledge to be happy….

Women Empowerment: Or should we say howwomen can empower other women 44

March is the month for Women Empowerment as we all know and so let’s be aware that Women Empowerment is the practice of making women independent so that they can handle their own lives without any pressures from society. In simplified words, it entitles women to take charge of their own personal and professional development. Women Empowerment allows women to live a happy and respected life in the society with access to education, profession and of course lifestyle. So with the help of other women, each women has the ability to empower and support each other. Things women can do to empower each other: Always stand up for other women – When you see discrimination or inequality, just call it out. Don’t just point to it but explain why it is unbalanced. For example, not getting the best place in the job, not maintaining your foothold in the marketplace & showing inappropriate gender biases. In today’s world, most people want to be fair so by taking a stand, you might be doing someone a favor in making them realize that this act is incorrect. Share Opportunities – We as women need to work together to promote ourselves. If you are in a leadership role, look out for women who can benefit from an upcoming opportunity & recommend them. Advocate for women with the decision makers. Build your network – Look for women who are positive, encouraging, strong and determined to help other women succeed. Build a strong network both at work and outside and stay in touch. You need each other to grow & succeed. Encourage other women – Encourage women to establish themselves in the field of education or any other profession to get them enlightened. Also hold a woman’s hand when she wants courage to fight, giver her a push when she needs it and keep reminding her of her abilities and talents. Always remember, we women are the solution. The combined voice of women is very powerful and we should be always standing up for each other at work or outside. We should be motivating and lifting up each other up, not standing against each other. A strong community of women can do miracles in empowering each other as together we are stronger and better. We as women can start empowering other women right now and not let anything hold us back. Yes, we are needed!

SHILPA TIKU WELLBEING, STRESS MANAGEMENT, AND VEGANISM TRENDS ARE THRIVING 56

Wellbeing, stress management, and health are all prompting a continued evolution of new products and services to help soothe unstable, constantly connected lifestyles. Consumers have been feeling more anxious than ever, with Americans among the most stressed in the world, according to a 2018 survey by Gallup. Veganism is Thriving – The food industry is responding en masse to this market. Sales data finds quarantine living has boosted demand for vegan products. US sales of fresh-meat alternative products increased year-over-year (YOY) by 297.1% for the four-week period ending on April 4, compared with a 59.3% boost for fresh meat, and a 69.7% rise for processed meat (Nielsen, 2020) Shoppers are also flocking to beans, a vegetarian staple, with dried bean sales up 230.5% YOY for the week ending March 14 (Nielsen, 2020). “People are fed up with eating unhealthy foods, which companies have laden with artificial flavors, sweeteners, or chemicals,” explains Alex Santoro, co-founder of Genesis. “Also, the conventional factory farming model is shocking—even the biggest meat-eater would probably agree.” Beyond ethics, consumers are also starting to correlate diet with long-term healthiness and with protecting themselves against chronic disease. “Recent studies have suggested that eating more plant-based food can reduce the risk of certain cancers and heart disease, currently our two biggest killers,” says Santoro. Another example of consumer-led change is the shift away from foods with added sugar. 3D printing - After being inspired by Star Trek’s food Replicator (a machine able to synthesize food on demand), Nestle is currently working on their own machine that can create meals and/supplements with the exact amounts of minerals and vitamin D. The NIHS (Nestle Institute of Health Sciences) is working on the project “Iron Man” with a team of 110 people currently researching 3D printing and links between mineral and vitamin deficiencies and illnesses, such as cancer and diabetes. The goal is to potentially create a machine that can tailor supplements that fit individual customer requirements. The machine could possibly 3D print the mixture into real meals, enhanced liquids, or powders. Manufacturers of nutritional products have been marketing their products with advertised health claims, which attracts health-conscious consumers. The increase in marketing and promotional initiatives will positively influence the growth of this market. – note Shilpa Tiku, Chief Research Officer and Partner at Verify Markets
