Message from Bronwyn Hello Wallsend Manor community,
Welcome to the autumn edition of our newsletter. With the cooler autumn weather, the residents have been enjoying the sunshine in the courtyard and outside balconies.
Our 4 weekly BBQs have been a success with many residents and their families enjoying the variety of barbequed meat and salads. This November the Government is releasing a revised Aged Care Act and a revised set of Aged Care Standards. You will notice information on the Act and Standards on the resident’s notice boards in each of our wings. I will also keep you updated at our monthly residents’ meetings. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hardship that many families are facing in our community that have been affected by the local floods, you are in our thoughts. Creative Moments & Celebrations March kicked off with memory board making and knitting, followed by delicious pancakes for Shrove Tuesday and a classic singalong . Residents embraced their artistic sides through Paint & Sip sessions, including Easter-themed artworks, and created Picasso- inspired pieces in April. St Patrick’s Day was full of shenanigans and games, and we marked the Easter season with beautiful craft, raffles, themed cookies, and an elegant afternoon tea served in fine china.
Music, Laughter & Fun Laughter and joy filled the home with karaoke sessions, including our very first duet on the new karaoke machine ! Our lifestyle team even joined in, making it a week of music, fun, and smiles. The Easter Bunny —aka Mandy—hopped in with chocolates for everyone and brought endless joy!

A fun fact about Canada is that it's the second-largest country in the world by land area. Additionally, Canada is known for producing 70-80% of the world's maple syrup.
