Fenestration Digital June 2026

Before we know it, we’re already halfway through another year, and as this June edition demonstrates, the fenestration sector continues to move forward at an impressive pace. This month’s magazine is packed with stories that showcase the resilience, innovation and ambition that define our industry. From significant business developments and strategic acquisitions through to product launches, sustainability initiatives, training advancements and award success, there is no shortage of positive momentum across the sector. A recurring theme throughout this issue is investment. Whether that is investment in people, products, facilities, training or customer support, businesses across our industry are continuing to back themselves despite ongoing economic pressures and market challenges. We see this through companies expanding their capabilities, strengthening their teams, embracing new technologies and creating opportunities for future growth. Another noticeable trend is the growing emphasis on responsibility and accountability. Sustainability, compliance, fire safety, security and product performance continue to shape conversations across the industry.

As regulations evolve and customer expectations rise, businesses are demonstrating that innovation and responsibility can work hand in hand to deliver better outcomes for everyone involved. Of course, June also marks an exciting period for the National Fenestration Awards. With voting now well underway and finalist campaigns gathering momentum, many of the companies featured throughout this edition are also celebrating their places on the 2026 shortlist. It is fantastic to see such strong engagement from across the industry, with businesses of all sizes showcasing their achievements and encouraging support from customers, colleagues and peers alike. As always, Fenestration Digital Magazine remains committed to providing a platform that highlights the people, businesses and innovations shaping our sector. We are grateful to all our contributors, advertisers and readers who continue to support the publication month after month. I hope you enjoy this latest edition and, as always, if you have a story, product launch, company milestone or industry insight you would like to share, we’d love to hear from you. Enjoy the issue.

ONLY 7% OF HOMEOWNERS FEEL TRULY UNDERSTOOD BY WINDOW & DOOR SALESPEOPLE – CLOSE THE GAP WITH KEYSTONE’S LATEST CONSUMER REPORT

Keystone Market Research is pleased to announce the launch of its latest UK Consumer Fenestration Trends Report, alongside new consumer findings highlighting a significant opportunity for installers to better connect with homeowners during the sales process. In Keystone’s latest consumer research, only 7% of homeowners said that when window or door salespeople visited their home, they addressed what mattered most to them and recommended styles that suited their taste very well - demonstrating substantial room for improvement in how companies understand and respond to homeowner preferences. This insight becomes even more important when considering that 92% of homeowners said that if two installation companies offered similar products, they would choose the company that better demonstrated an understanding of their needs and style. Significantly, 53% also said they would still choose that company even if it was more expensive. The findings reinforce that understanding homeowner priorities, lifestyles and aesthetic preferences - and being able to communicate this effectively in the home - is now a major competitive differentiator within a challenging market. Against this, Keystone’s latest UK Consumer Fenestration Trends Report delivers fresh insight into homeowner preferences, priorities and investment intentions across windows, doors and glazed extensions - with a dedicated special feature

exploring the growing opportunity within the aluminium market.

This latest edition combines analysis of shifting homeowner attitudes with deeper behavioural segmentation using newly updated Mosaic homeowner profiles. A major focus is the aluminium-preferring homeowner segment, which the research identifies as one of the strongest growth opportunities currently emerging within the fenestration sector. The dedicated aluminium feature explores who these consumers are, what they prioritise, how they research products and where they are planning to invest over the short and medium term. Charlotte Hawkes, Director of Keystone Market Research, commented: “This latest report highlights

that while core homeowner priorities remain stable around quality, security and energy efficiency, we’re seeing much clearer segmentation in who is actively investing, how they make decisions and where the strongest growth opportunities lie. “The aluminium feature was particularly interesting because it revealed a very engaged and investment- ready consumer group. These homeowners are highly design-led, more decisive in their purchasing behaviour and significantly more likely to be planning projects in the near term. For businesses in the premium windows and doors space especially, this represents a very important opportunity area for the year ahead. “Our findings around homeowner expectations of salespeople show there is still a major gap between what consumers want and what they currently experience during the fenestration buying journey. Businesses that can better demonstrate

understanding of homeowners’ style preferences, priorities and lifestyles will be in a much stronger position to win work, even in a difficult market, and that valuable intelligence is readily available to the industry within our research.” The report has once again been made possible through the continued sponsorship of Business Pilot, Endurance Doors, Epwin Window Systems, the GGF, Liniar and VEKA, whose backing enables Keystone to make this research freely available to sponsor’s customers and more widely accessible across the fenestration supply chain by subscription. For more information on the latest Consumer Fenestration Trends Report, sponsorship opportunities or annual subscriptions, visit www. keystonemr.co.uk.

GARNALEX AND SHEERLINE RENEW COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) have been achieved to the requirements of EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 and published online for both Garnalex and Sheerline. This reflects the growing need for sustainable products and transparency around the manufacturing processes, which aligns with Sheerline’s core values. With the Future Homes Standard (FHS) updates coming into effect next year and the UK working towards its Net Zero Strategy, EPDs are expected to become more important in the near future. Both EPDs have been externally assessed and independently verified by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), which adds legitimacy, giving customers confidence in both the brand and products they’re choosing. It will also enable them to win more business through competitive tenders and with specifiers that demand proof of sustainable practices. Several factors contributed to the low GWP number; all operations are completed in-house at a single manufacturing site, giving full oversight over the processes required to take the raw materials and

turn them into the end product. Additionally, the raw material (aluminium) is sourced in the UK, reducing the carbon footprint. To ensure they’re as broad as possible, both EPD types are Cradle to Gate with modules C and D. The Garnalex EPD has been calculated using 1 kg of trade aluminium extrusions, while the Sheerline EPD utilises 1 kg of profile used across the entire range of window, door, and roof products. Sheerline’s Head of Compliance, Martin Froggatt, said: “Our EPDs provide the in-depth insights our customers want and need to know. We’re giving them the tools they need to win more work and champion sustainability. It’s been a long process, but ultimately it has been worth it.” “I’ve already worked with two of our customers who are now interested in securing an EPD for their operations. For me personally, it’s been a great exercise in teamwork, requiring the input of colleagues from across the business, which highlights what we can achieve when we work together, while also highlighting our commitment to sustainable practices.” View the EPDs online for Garnalex and Sheerline.

AMIDST YEAR-ON-YEAR GROWTH, CO MANUFACTURING HOSTS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SALES & MARKETING CONFERENCE

Leading home improvement companies from across the United Kingdom met in Manchester to attend CO Manufacturing’s latest Sales & Marketing Conference, Held this year in the iconic 1868 Suite inside Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, owners, directors and senior leaders from across the CO Retail Network were given the opportunity to learn about the fabricator’s plans for the upcoming twelve months. Additionally, attendees had the chance to hear from the manufacturer’s marketing team, its partner digital agency and other key note speakers who led panel discussions and speeches on the latest trends and topics impacting both sales and marketing within the fenestration sector. The day-long conference covered a variety of topics, with sessions covering everything from lead generation and AI-driven search marketing through to sales training structures, recruitment and data-led campaign planning. Those in attendance were also given an early look at upcoming product launches, such as its new Forté Marcella door range and Envisage Flush French Doors. Reflecting on the event, Greg Kane, CEO of CO Manufacturing, said: “The purpose of the conference is simple: It’s to help our retail partners continue to perform well above market expectations. Whether its through sector-leading marketing campaigns, new sales processes, product development or shared learning, our focus is always on creating additional value for our retailers.

“What makes the CO Retail Network different is the openness and collaboration between members. Their willingness to share ideas, discuss challenges and collectively improve is something that genuinely sets the group apart.” As well as focussing on new initiatives, the conference also highlighted the success of CO Manufacturing’s wider marketing strategy. With lead generation numbers up 14% year-on-year, businesses within the CO Retail Network are reaping the rewards of having access to this specialised and highly tailored marketing support. Paul Reid of the Dundee-based Ecofit Windows & Doors commented: “Events like this are hugely valuable because they’re built around real-world insight rather than theory. You’re not just hearing from CO Manufacturing, you’re learning from other successful retailers across the Network, sharing ideas and taking away practical strategies that can immediately make a difference.” By combining future planning with hands-on commercial support, CO Manufacturing’s Sales & Marketing Conference once again reinforced the company’s position as a strategic growth partner to independent retailers across the UK. “It’s certainly an exciting time to be part of the CO Retail Network,” Greg added. “With both sales and leads up, we’re continuing to buck the wider market trend. It certainly isn’t easy out there. But we’re proving that with the right product, backed up by the right support, businesses can thrive.”

GARETH THOMAS SPEARHEADS ACCESSORIES PUSH FOR REHAU

REHAU has appointed Gareth Thomas as Senior Product Manager for System Accessories, enhancing the company’s service and support for the growing accessories market. Gareth joins REHAU’s product team after 12 years in fenestration sales, the last five of which have been spent working for REHAU across London, South East and South West England, and Wales. As part of his new role, Gareth will use his sales experience to strengthen REHAU’s service and support for key accounts, drawing on the known wants and needs of fabricators and installers to drive strategy and bring new products to market. He said: “After 12 years in the fenestration industry, and five at REHAU, I’d like to think I have a really good grasp on what fabricators and installers are looking for. I saw this as an opportunity to influence the way we approach products using my sales background, and also build on my existing knowledge of our product offering.” Gareth’s remit will span hardware such as hinges, steels, and Window.ID, as well as looking at new product areas. REHAU has been building on its accessories offering as part of its full window system approach so it is an exciting time to have joined a growing area of the business. In his time since making the switch to REHAU’s product team, Gareth has already been busy making introductions to key suppliers, as well as attending Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg, Germany, in March. Outside of work, Gareth is an avid runner, completing a 100km ultramarathon for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2024.

He concluded: “I see this role as an opportunity to align the needs of the customer with our long- term strategy. I studied business at university and always saw myself in this kind of role at some point, so this is a bit of a full-circle moment for me and I’m glad that this opportunity came with REHAU as I truly love working here. “I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the fabricators that I’ve worked with over the years. This doesn’t quite mean goodbye though, as I’m glad to still be supporting their businesses in a new way!” Find out more about REHAU’s accessories offering, or connect with Gareth on LinkedIn.

TITON ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF G-PACK MANUFACTURING LIMITED

Titon Hardware Ltd has announced the acquisition of G-Pack Manufacturing Limited, a UK supplier of injection moulded plastic components used in the installation of windows and doors. G-Pack supplies a range of installation accessories including bridge packers, flat packers, sill end caps and frame corner protectors. Its products are designed to work with major UK window system profiles and are used by fabricators across the UK. Strengthening Titon’s Window and Door Hardware offer The acquisition adds a complementary product range to Titon’s existing Window and Door Hardware portfolio. For customers, this means access to a broader range of products from Titon. G-Pack’s installation accessories sit naturally alongside Titon’s existing hardware range, supporting customers who need practical, reliable components for window and door manufacture and installation. G-Pack also brings an adjacent customer base and well-established product knowledge. Titon will work carefully through the integration to maintain continuity for customers while identifying opportunities to improve service, availability and product support. Greater manufacturing control over time G-Pack’s products are currently manufactured through a third-party partner. As part of the

integration, Titon plans to bring this production into its Haverhill facility. This is expected to give Titon greater control over production, quality and future product development. It will also make better use of Titon’s existing injection moulding capability, supporting the Group’s strategy to invest in complementary products and build on its UK manufacturing base. Continuity for customers G-Pack will initially operate as a standalone subsidiary of Titon. Existing customer contacts, ordering arrangements and supply processes will remain unchanged unless customers are advised otherwise. Steve Barnes, the current owner of G-Pack, will join Titon on a fixed-term contract to support the integration and help ensure a smooth transition. Tom Carpenter, Chief Executive Officer of Titon, commented: “The acquisition of G-Pack is a positive step for Titon and supports the delivery of our Titon 2028 strategy. G-Pack’s products sit naturally alongside our existing Window and Door Hardware range and give customers access to a broader product offer. “Over time, we expect to bring G-Pack’s currently outsourced production into our Haverhill facility. This will give us greater control over manufacturing and support the better use of our existing injection moulding capability.” For more information about Titon’s window & door hardware products, please visit www.titon.com/wdh

RESPONSIBILITY BEYOND THE MINIMUM

The moral and technical case for safer, better evidenced doorsets In a market shaped by standards, certification, and regulation, it is easy to treat compliance as the final measure of product responsibility. Does it meet the standard? Is the product correct for the intended application? Those questions matter, but they are not enough on their own. For doorsets, particularly those designed to deliver fire performance, the industry must look beyond minimum compliance and ask a more important question: does the finished doorset provide the level of safety, evidence, and real-world performance that customers, residents, and homeowners have the right to expect? That is both a technical question and a moral one. Product standards are documented rules and specifications that define the quality, safety, and performance requirements a product must meet. They create a shared framework for testing, specification, and accountability. But standards are not the same as responsibility. They tell us what must be achieved at a given point in time. They do not remove the need for manufacturers, suppliers, fabricators, and specifiers to think carefully about product suitability, component compatibility, and how a doorset will perform once it leaves the test environment. A doorset is not a single component. It is a system. The lock, cylinder, protective hardware, hinges, keeps, seals, frame, threshold, and door leaf all play a role in final performance. If one element is changed or substituted without the correct supporting evidence, the performance of the complete doorset can be affected. That is why evidence matters. Evidence such as a field of application should not be treated as a document that simply sits in a file. It is the technical evidence behind any performance claim. It shows what has been tested, which

components were used, which configurations are covered, and where the boundaries of that evidence sit. When that link is clear, everyone in the supply chain has more confidence. Customers can trust that the finished product reflects the evidence behind it. Specifiers can see why a solution is suitable. Fabricators know what they can manufacture. Installers understand what they are fitting and maintenance can be conducted correctly. When that link is weak, risk enters the process. A compliant component does not automatically create a compliant doorset. A similar product is not always an equivalent product. For fire doorsets, poor specification or unsupported substitution can compromise the Golden Thread before the product reaches site. For enhanced security doorsets, a fragmented approach can create weak points that are not obvious when individual components are viewed in isolation. Responsibility beyond the minimum means recognising these risks early. At Winkhaus, this thinking underpins our approach to doorset hardware, testing, and system development. Our role is not simply to supply components, but to support customers in creating doorsets that are practical, compliant, and properly evidenced. As expectations increase, the strongest doorset solutions will be those that combine technical evidence with responsible judgement. They will not depend on assumption, unsupported substitutions, or isolated component claims. Ultimately, responsibility beyond the minimum is about doing more than asking, “Can we demonstrate compliance?” It is about asking, “Is this the right thing to put into the market?” Because safer, better evidenced doorsets are not just a technical requirement. They are an industry responsibility.

For Atlas Aluminium, the last eighteen months has been a story of resilience and leadership, with the hard work of its new senior team and loyal employees reflected in two shortlist nominations in this year’s National Fenestration Awards. Atlas Aluminium relaunched as an independent business in December 2024 following a management-backed acquisition, marking a new chapter for the business. The company is now led by a diverse and expert leadership team with extensive industry knowledge and experience, and driven by four core values: Honesty, Efficiency, Agility and Customer at the Heart. Since the beginning of 2025, Atlas Aluminium has worked hard to communicate its commitment to transparency, collaboration and the building of long-term partnerships. New CEO Jamie Newall and the wider management team have met with many customers to understand how the Atlas can better support them. Alongside this, the business has undertaken a significant digital marketing transformation, embracing a new data driven strategy to better engage with customers and the wider industry. The NFA shortlist nominations in both the ‘Aluminium Fabricator of the Year’ and ‘Bi- Folding Door Manufacturer of the Year’ categories represent recognition of what Atlas Aluminium has achieved so far. ATLAS ALUMINIUM: FROM RELAUNCH TO RECOGNITION

For example, for many customers, particularly smaller businesses, reliable service is critical to ensure they can meet and even surpass the expectations of homeowners and specifiers. The business has therefore invested in its production and distribution capabilities to achieve shorter lead times across the range as well as nationwide delivery with real-time tracking to make it simpler for trade partners. This is core to Atlas Aluminium’s ethos is that sustainable growth comes from building strong relationships based on a reputation for quality and reliability. Around 28 percent of employees have been with Atlas Aluminium for more than ten years, and the longest-serving team member has 35 years’ experience. This experience supports customers who need technical guidance and a supplier that understands the demands of aluminium fabrication. Within production, team members are trained across different product areas, helping Atlas respond to customer requirements while maintaining standards. In the 18 months since its relaunch, Atlas Aluminium has shown that it is possible to retain the best of the past while building a new, stronger identity. With experienced leadership, a highly skilled and flexible

workforce, and a full aluminium products range, the company is equipped to support installers at every stage from initial specification to project completion. Jamie Newall, CEO at Atlas Aluminium said: “Being shortlisted in two categories is recognition of the commitment shown by our team and the support of our customers. Since relaunching as an independent business, our focus has been on listening to our customers and making improvements that have a genuine impact on their experience of working with Atlas. It is encouraging to see that recognised by the industry.”

FINAL COUNTDOWN: NATIONAL FENESTRATION AWARDS JUST 100 TICKETS AWAY FROM THIRD CONSECUTIVE SELL-OUT

The National Fenestration Awards (NFAs) has officially entered its final countdown, with organisers announcing that fewer than 100 tickets remain for the glass and glazing industry’s premier day out. This year’s event takes place on Saturday 24th October at the Hilton at Doncaster Racecourse, featuring a thrilling day of racing, a premium three- course meal, and the live awards presentation. With the event having sold out completely for the last two years running, organisers are warning industry professionals that time is running out. Anyone looking to secure their place is being urged to act immediately to avoid missing out on the sector’s biggest day of networking and celebration. Sarah Rogers, of the National Fenestration Awards, emphasised the need to book quickly: “Having sold out completely for the last two years running, we knew demand would be high, but we are now down to the absolute final stretch. With just 100 tickets left, we are right on the brink of another full house. The Hilton at Doncaster

Racecourse is going to be packed on Saturday 24th October, and the atmosphere will be fantastic. Between the racing, the three-course meal, and celebrating our winners, it is going to be an incredible day. My advice to anyone still planning to join us is simple: do not wait. Once these final 100 tickets are gone, they are officially gone.” The NFAs stand out as the independent awards platform where winners are decided entirely by the votes of the people working within the glass, glazing, and fenestration sectors. The popular race day format maximises networking, team appreciation, and industry camaraderie in a lively, high-energy environment. Tickets are strictly first-come, first-served and can be purchased individually or as packages via the official website. To grab one of the remaining 100 tickets for October 24th, visit www.fenestrationawards.co.uk/winners-event or contact Sarah Rogers directly at sarahnatfen@gmail.com

DELIVERING THE COMPLETE COMPOSITE DOOR SOLUTION

Being named a finalist in the Composite Door Manufacturer of the Year category at the National Fenestration Awards is recognition of a business that continues to invest in every aspect of its composite door offering. From slab technology and product innovation through to door preparation, paint finishing and customer support, ODL Europe remains focused on helping customers deliver high-performing composite doors that stand the test of time. Performance starts with the slab In today’s market, appearance alone is not enough. Homeowners expect a composite door to look great on the day it is installed and continue performing year after year. That’s why ODL Europe believes the foundation of every successful composite door begins with the slab itself. At the heart of the company’s offer is the ODL Capstone slab. Manufactured using high-glass- content GRP skins, reinforced LVL timbers, an integrated ABS security panel and advanced bonding technology, it has been designed to deliver exceptional structural stability and long- term reliability. This carefully balanced construction helps minimise the risk of bowing, twisting and distortion, even in demanding environmental conditions. For fabricators and installers, that means fewer concerns about callbacks and greater confidence that every door will continue to perform as intended long after installation. In an industry where reputation is everything, reliability matters.

Giving customers more choice Whilst performance remains critical, homeowners also expect greater choice when it comes to entrance doors. ODL Europe has invested significantly in developing one of the industry’s most comprehensive composite door portfolios, offering a wide range of traditional and contemporary styles to suit virtually every property type. Whether homeowners are looking for classic cottage charm or clean contemporary aesthetics, customers have access to a door range that helps them compete effectively across all sectors of the market. The company’s recent stable door launch highlights this commitment to continual product development. Stable doors remain one of the most recognisable door styles in the market because they combine practicality, character and versatility. By introducing stable door options across selected Cottage Collection designs, ODL Europe has created new opportunities for customers to meet growing homeowner demand whilst benefiting from the same quality and performance associated with the ODL Capstone slab. Investing beyond the product Over recent years, the company has continued to invest in its operational capabilities to create a fully integrated composite door solution. Its expanded in-house door preparation facility uses advanced CNC technology to deliver precision and consistency across every order. This investment helps ensure the quality standards expected by fabricators and installers are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.

Alongside door prep, ODL Europe’s dedicated paint plant provides complete control over the finishing process. Customers can choose from an extensive range of standard and woodgrain-effect finishes or specify any RAL colour, helping them create truly bespoke door solutions for homeowners. Every painted door is finished using a hard-wearing polyurethane paint system and is backed by a 10-year guarantee against fade, loss of gloss and adhesion. The result is a complete package that combines product quality, manufacturing expertise and premium finishing from a single trusted supplier. Built around customer success ODL Europe’s continued investment is driven by a clear objective to helping customers grow their businesses. By combining proven slab technology, extensive design choice, precision door preparation and premium paint finishing, the company provides fabricators and installers with a composite door solution designed to enhance efficiency, reduce risk and create new sales opportunities.
