Final Countdown: National Fenestration Awards Just 100 Tickets Away From Third Consecutive Sell-Out
The National Fenestration Awards (NFAs) has officially entered its final countdown, with organisers announcing that fewer than 100 tickets remain for the glass and glazing industry’s premier day out. This year’s event takes place on Saturday 24th October at the Hilton at Doncaster Racecourse, featuring a thrilling day of racing, a premium three- course meal, and the live awards presentation. With the event having sold out completely for the last two years running, organisers are warning industry professionals that time is running out. Anyone looking to secure their place is being urged to act immediately to avoid missing out on the sector’s biggest day of networking and celebration. Sarah Rogers, of the National Fenestration Awards, emphasised the need to book quickly: “Having sold out completely for the last two years running, we knew demand would be high, but we are now down to the absolute final stretch. With just 100 tickets left, we are right on the brink of another full house. The Hilton at Doncaster
Racecourse is going to be packed on Saturday 24th October, and the atmosphere will be fantastic. Between the racing, the three-course meal, and celebrating our winners, it is going to be an incredible day. My advice to anyone still planning to join us is simple: do not wait. Once these final 100 tickets are gone, they are officially gone.” The NFAs stand out as the independent awards platform where winners are decided entirely by the votes of the people working within the glass, glazing, and fenestration sectors. The popular race day format maximises networking, team appreciation, and industry camaraderie in a lively, high-energy environment. Tickets are strictly first-come, first-served and can be purchased individually or as packages via the official website. To grab one of the remaining 100 tickets for October 24th, visit https://www. fenestrationawards.co.uk/winners-event/ or contact Sarah Rogers directly at sarahnatfen@ gmail.com

Why Bespoke Manufacturing Matters
Over the past decade, the fenestration industry has experienced significant change. Building safety requirements have evolved, sustainability expectations have increased, and manufacturers and supply chains have become increasingly focused on efficiency, consistency and standardisation. Yet despite these changes, one thing remains unchanged. Buildings are rarely standard. Whether replacing fire doorsets within occupied residential blocks, delivering a conservation-led refurbishment, or manufacturing windows and doors for a new-build development, no two schemes are exactly alike. Project specifications are often shaped by a combination of planning constraints, performance requirements, and whole-life maintenance
considerations, creating requirements that rarely fit neatly within a standard product range. Bespoke Solutions for Complex Projects For almost 30 years, West Port has manufactured timber windows, entrance doors, French doors and fire doorsets for projects across the UK. The company has worked across conservation, residential, hospitality and fire door replacement programmes where standard solutions are often unsuitable. Timber is sourced through FSC® (FSC®C017295) and PEFC (COC-853909) chain-of-custody certification, providing traceability throughout the supply chain and supporting responsible public sector procurement. Projects such as The May Fair Hotel and St Elphins Park provide good examples of the challenges faced across conservation and refurbishment projects.
At The May Fair Hotel, planners required the original appearance of the building to be preserved, while the client wanted a more modern solution that improved cleaning, maintenance and day-to-day operation. West Port specified its Dual Swing timber window, combining the appearance of a traditional sash window with the practical benefits of a modern system. At St Elphins Park, conservation considerations, curved stone bays and the character of the original Victorian building all influenced the final design. West Port produced detailed manufacturing drawings to ensure the windows matched the original architecture while delivering modern performance standards and significantly improved thermal efficiency. Success depends on understanding the unique demands of the building and translating them into a practical solution. Flexibility at Scale While bespoke manufacturing is often associated with heritage and conservation projects, the same principles apply to large developments. On the Center Parcs Woburn Forest development, West Port supplied approximately 4,000 timber windows, 2,000 entrance doors and sliding patio
doors across the 625-lodge holiday village. Products were manufactured in a specific colour to suit the woodland setting, and the architect visited the factory to review samples, finishes and completed products during manufacture. The scheme demonstrates that bespoke manufacturing can support projects of every size, from complex refurbishments through to major multi- phase construction programmes. The Compliance Challenge: Fire Safety Ultimately, the value of bespoke manufacturing lies in its ability to respond to project-specific requirements without compromising performance. This is particularly important within the fire doorset sector, where fire safety, certification and long-term compliance requirements must all be considered together. West Port’s FD30 and FD60 fire doorsets are supported by a large primary test evidence catalogue, UKAS-accredited third-party certification through BlueSky, approved ironmongery options and Secured by Design accreditation. However, compliance does not end at manufacture alone. Increasingly, building owners and Responsible Persons require access to accurate product information throughout the life of the building.
As part of West Port’s partnership with Contactless Check Solutions, RFID-tagged fire doorsets can be linked to a digital record from manufacture through installation, inspection and maintenance, helping support traceability, compliance management and the Golden Thread of information across individual buildings, estates and wider property portfolios. The Difference Experience Makes Delivering project-specific solutions requires more than manufacturing capability alone. It requires people who understand the realities of compliance, conservation, and on-site challenges. Many of our team members supporting customers today have spent decades working across the timber and construction industries. That expertise has also been recognised by the National Fenestration Awards. This year, West Port
has received eight nominations across both company and individual categories, recognising leadership, customer service, operations, sales, and emerging talent. We are proud of that recognition because it reflects the expertise and commitment our people bring to customers every day. Whether the challenge is conservation, scale, or compliance, the principle remains the same. Successful outcomes are achieved when products are designed around the requirements of the project, rather than expecting the project to conform to a standard solution. That is why bespoke manufacturing continues to matter today. Tel: 01900 814 225

Delivering The Complete Composite Door Solution
Being named a finalist in the Composite Door Manufacturer of the Year category at the National Fenestration Awards is recognition of a business that continues to invest in every aspect of its composite door offering. From slab technology and product innovation through to door preparation, paint finishing and customer support, ODL Europe remains focused on helping customers deliver high- performing composite doors that stand the test of time. Performance starts with the slab In today’s market, appearance alone is not enough. Homeowners expect a composite door to look great on the day it is installed and continue performing year after year. That’s why ODL Europe believes the foundation of every successful composite door begins with the slab itself. At the heart of the company’s offer is the ODL Capstone slab. Manufactured using high-glass- content GRP skins, reinforced LVL timbers, an integrated ABS security panel and advanced bonding technology, it has been designed to deliver exceptional structural stability and long-term reliability. This carefully balanced construction helps minimise the risk of bowing, twisting and distortion, even in demanding environmental conditions. For fabricators and installers, that means fewer concerns about
callbacks and greater confidence that every door will continue to perform as intended long after installation. In an industry where reputation is everything, reliability matters. Giving customers more choice Whilst performance remains critical, homeowners also expect greater choice when it comes to entrance doors. ODL Europe has invested significantly in developing one of the industry’s most comprehensive composite door portfolios, offering a wide range of traditional and contemporary styles to suit virtually every property type. Whether homeowners are looking for classic cottage charm or clean contemporary aesthetics, customers have access to a door range that helps them compete effectively across all sectors of the market.
The company’s recent stable door launch highlights this commitment to continual product development. Stable doors remain one of the most
recognisable door styles in the market because they combine practicality, character and versatility. By introducing
stable door options across
selected Cottage Collection designs, ODL Europe has created new opportunities for customers to meet growing homeowner demand whilst benefiting from the same quality and performance
associated with the ODL Capstone slab. Investing beyond the product
Over recent years, the company has continued to invest in its operational capabilities to create a fully integrated composite door solution. Its expanded in-house door preparation facility uses advanced CNC technology to deliver precision and consistency across every order. This investment helps ensure the quality standards expected by fabricators and installers are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. Alongside door prep, ODL Europe’s dedicated paint plant provides complete control over the finishing process. Customers can choose from an extensive range of standard and woodgrain-effect finishes or specify any RAL colour, helping them create truly bespoke door solutions for homeowners. Every painted door is finished using a hard-wearing polyurethane paint system and is backed by a 10-year guarantee against fade, loss of gloss and adhesion. The result is a complete package that
combines product quality, manufacturing expertise and premium finishing from a single trusted supplier. Built around customer success ODL Europe’s continued investment is driven by a clear objective to helping customers grow their businesses. By combining proven slab technology, extensive design choice, precision door preparation and premium paint finishing, the company provides fabricators and installers with a composite door solution designed to enhance efficiency, reduce risk and create new sales opportunities.

Being able to order from a stillage down to single bar lengths helps reduce stockholding, manage cashflow and take on more specialist colour work without overcommitting. At a time when every margin matters, staying competitive in more ways than one is crucial. Deceuninck’s approach ensures colour becomes an opportunity - not an operational burden.
To support customers further, the Deceuninck Business Kit provides fabricators with a suite of tools designed to support commercial growth, including installer profiles, website subsites, lead‑generation tools, CRM functionality and a library of marketing assets. Developed in response to customer demand, the platform helps fabricators open new opportunities and strengthen their market presence. Having recognised the growing challenge of greenwashing in today’s marketplace, where environmental claims are sometimes exaggerated or unsupported, Deceuninck is committed to avoiding this practice by ensuring that every sustainability statement we make is evidence‑based, independently verified and transparently reported. This is reflected through genuine action rather than marketing spin. This commitment to honesty and accountability strengthens trust with our customers, partners and
communities, and reinforces the integrity of our long-term climate strategy of achieving net zero by 2050, as part of our commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). With energy standards tightening and homeowners expecting more from every upgrade, fabricators need systems that deliver genuine efficiency, without creating unnecessary cost, weight and complexity on the factory floor. For Deceuninck Aluminium, the answer is clear: build thermal performance in from the start and make it achievable in the real world. That’s exactly what the Decalu platform is designed to do, combining modular efficiency with future-facing U-values across windows and doors. It also gives aluminium fabricators the confidence to compete directly with composite window and door systems, which are increasingly being specified in place of aluminium on thermal
performance alone. “Being recognised across many categories is a testament to our people, customers and suppliers” says Darren Woodcock, General Manager of Deceuninck. “As confidence returns and regulatory expectations tighten, success in 2026 will depend on preparation, consistency and the strength of supply partnerships.” He adds. “Fabricators need suppliers who can support growth when the market lifts, who understand the compliance landscape, and who can provide futureproof systems backed by robust technical data. With our investment in product performance, sustainability and service reliability, Deceuninck is positioning itself as exactly that kind of partner.” To vote for Deceuninck in the National Fenestration Awards, please vote here: www.fenestrationawards.co.uk/nfa26
Glazing Sector Votes: John Fredericks Plastics Named 2026 National Fenestration Awards Finalist in Four Categories
Huddersfield-based trade fabricator John Fredericks Plastics has been officially shortlisted as a finalist in four major categories for the 2026 National Fenestration Awards (NFAs), kicking off a major voting campaign across the UK fenestration sector. Known for their signature Ultimate Collection and a long-standing commitment to Quality, Service, and Value for Money , the manufacturer is calling on its national installer network and trade peers for support after securing nominations for: • Fabricator/Manufacturer of the Year • PVC Fabricator of the Year • Aluminium Fabricator of the Year • Managing Director/Director of the Year (Mark Dicconson) This recognition marks a pivotal moment for the business. While long-established as a PVC-U super fabricator operating from an 80,000 sq. ft. site, the company has recently scaled up its aluminium division, moving into a dedicated 36,000 sq. ft. factory . This expansion has enabled a wider range of aluminium product offerings, including the launch of the Smart Systems range. These dual nominations for both PVC and Aluminium Fabricator of the Year highlight the successful transition the company has made toward becoming
a major player in aluminium fabrication. The announcement lands during a landmark year for the company, following its recent signing of a milestone 10-year exclusive profile supply agreement with VEKA/Halo. The fabricator has also launched the cutting-edge VEKA Omnia double- flush and double-rebated system into The Ultimate Collection, delivering sleek, aluminium-alternative aesthetics with thermal performance down to 0.85 W/m^2K. Mark Dicconson, Managing Director of John Fredericks Plastics Group—and NFA Finalist for Director of the Year—commented: “To be shortlisted across four distinct categories for the 2026 awards is an incredible honour for the entire business. It validates the immense hard work our factory, office, and logistics teams put in every single day, supporting our national network of installers. “Being nominated for both PVC and Aluminium Fabricator of the Year is particularly rewarding. It proves that the market recognises us not just for our deep roots in PVC innovation and fabrication excellence, but also as a high-quality aluminium manufacturer. When you pair that capability with game-change like our new ultra-matte Feinstruktur textured foils and the Omnia range, we are giving
installers a future-proof, high-margin innovative product suite. “Our recent major investments—such as a new Graf Synergy seamless CNC cill welder, 4 new Stuga ZX5 saw/cutting centres, Urban SV-800 fully automated frame and sash welding/corner cleaning lines ensure product quality remains completely unmatched in consistency. I am extremely humbled to be nominated alongside the business, but the real accolade is seeing John Fredericks gaining well deserved recognition for 56 years supplying their high quality, innovative products to the UK trade window/door market”. As an award scheme decided purely by industry participation, John Fredericks enters the final voting phase of the NFA 2026 campaign backed by more than 56 years of continuous trading, its reputation as a trusted, forward-thinking partner for UK installers. Voting for the 2026 National Fenestration Awards is now officially live, with the industry vote closing on Friday, 18th September at 5:00pm, ahead of the winners’ presentation event in October.
How to Vote: John Fredericks Plastics is urging its customers, suppliers, and industry colleagues to cast their votes. Support John Fredericks and Mark Dicconson across all four shortlisted categories by visiting the official NFA26 voting portal at: www.fenestrationawards.co.uk/nfa26

Their willingness to share ideas, discuss challenges and collectively improve is something that genuinely sets the group apart.” As well as focussing on new initiatives, the conference also highlighted the success of CO Manufacturing’s wider marketing strategy.
