KIRBY MOON Iowa State Representative
I get lots of cruising pictures of Kirby Moon from Mount Union, Iowa, and that’s because he goes to lots of events and is always out cruising around in his ’30 Chevrolet pickup having fun doing stuff. Kirby started with an extended-cab kit from Studleys Independent Rods, including the chassis with a Studleys’ tubular IFS with Aldan coilovers. Kirby then installed a Chevy 327 from a ’68 Camaro project he’s still working on, including the highway ready 700R4. Kirby straightened out the body and had Riverside Collision lay down the Cobalt Metallic Blue over silver gray fenders while Keith Dewaul stitched the gray leather interior around bucket seats. Kirby added A/C, cruise, and power everything. We thank Kirby for all his help with the Builders Showcase at the Street Rod Nationals.
ROGER LYNN Kansas State Representative Roger and Jane Lynn from Peck, Kansas, have been cruising in their ’40 Ford sedan for over 50 years. Roger said he bought the rod and re-did it, but I know that he has re- done the rod multiple times and it looks great. The seriously slammed family sedan runs the stock chassis with a dropped axle up front, a Ford 8-inch rear suspension, five- hole Halibrands wearing 15-inch big and little BFG rubber with power coming from a Chevy 350/TH350 powertrain. Roger stitched the brown air-conditioned interior, and he also straightened out the body and laid down the cream paint with Ohio-style flames. The ’40 looks great after its most recent rebuild and I’ll see you and Jane in no time.
