Hanna Mechanical Ltd was contracted to provide the full mechanical services package for the project, including heating, plumbing, soil and waste drainage systems, ventilation, air conditioning, Building Management System integration, and the supply and installation of sanitary ware. Its scope encompassed design coordination, installation, testing and commissioning to ensure a fully functional, efficient and compliant building environment. Challenges included carrying out extensive services works on a listed building within a live environment, minimising disruption to teaching, research activities and building occupants. This was overcome through careful
planning and phasing of the works and close coordination with the client. Regular coordination meetings between M&E, construction and client teams ensured that access constraints, service shutdowns and programme risks were identified early and managed effectively. Gary Hanna, Director, says, “We worked closely with the main contractor throughout the project, maintaining regular communication to ensure all mechanical services were delivered in line with the construction programme and project requirements.
