watchmaker owes perhaps its greatest creation to the demands of the polo field itself. Nearly a century after its debut, the Reverso remains one of the most recognisable watches in the world – a timepiece born from sport, refined through engineering and ele- vated to an enduring design icon. The story begins in British India in 1930. During a trip to the sub- continent, successful entrepreneur César de Trey encountered British Army officers who were passionate polo players but frus- trated by a recurring problem: the glass of their wristwatches was frequently shattered during matches. Challenged to devise a timepiece robust enough to withstand the rigours of the sport, he approached Jacques-David LeCoultre to produce it. Through his connections with Parisian firm Jaeger SA, LeCoultre enlist- ed French industrial designer René-Alfred Chauvot to develop a revolutionary reversible case. By simply sliding and flipping the watch over, the dial could be protected by a solid metal back dur- ing play. In 1931, the Reverso was born. What began as a practical sporting instrument quickly transcend- ed its original purpose. The Reverso’s sleek Art Deco geometry, rectilinear proportions, horizontal gadroons, triangular lugs and ingenious swivelling case captured the spirit of modernity. It was embraced not only by polo players but also by artists, aristocrats and tastemakers globally. الحصــــــان المُنطلق أكثر من مجرد شــــــعارٍ، فهــــــو مرآة تختزل جوهر لونشــــــان، بما يعكسه من حيويةٍ، واستمراريةٍ، وإيمان دائم بالمضي قدمًا. جيجير-لوكولتر تختلــــــف صلــــــة جيجير-لوكولتــــــر بعالم الخيل عن ســــــائر دور الفخامة. فالحصان لم يدخل عالم الدار بوصفه رمزًا زخرفيًا، بل كان الشــــــرارة التي أفضت إلى ولادة أشــــــهر ابتكارات هذه الدار السويسرية المتخصـــــــــــصة في صناعة الساعات. فمــــــن متطلبات لعبــــــــــة البولو، وُلدت ساعة “ريفيرســــــــــــو”، التي ما تــــــزال، بعد مــــــا يقارب قرنًا علــــــى إطلاقها، واحــــــدة من أكثر الساعات تميزًا في العالم، وتحفة بدأت رحلتهــــــا في الميدان الرياضي، ثم صاغتها الهندسة الدقيقــــة، لتغدو أيقونة خالدة في عالم التصميم. . فخلال رحلة 1930 تبــــــدأ الحكاية في الهنــــــد البريطانية عام إلى شــــــبه القارة الهندية، التقى رائد الأعمال ســــــيزار دو تري ضباطًا في الجيش البريطاني كانوا من عشّــــــاق البولو، لكنهم كانوا يواجهون مشــــــكلة تتكرر فــــــي كل مباراة تقريبًا، إذ كان زجاج ســــــاعاتهم كثيــــــرًا ما يتحطّم أثناء اللعــــــب. وأمام هذا التحدي، المتمثّل في ابتكار ساعة متينة تكفي لتحمّل قسوة هــــــذه الرياضــــــة، لجأ دو تري إلى صانع الســــــاعات جاك-دافيد لوكولتر لتنفيذها. ومن خلال صلاته بشركة “جيجير إس إيه” الباريسية، استعان لوكولتر بالمصمم الصناعي الفرنسي رينيه- ألفريد شوفو لتطوير علبة ثورية قابلة للقلب. فبمجرد سحب الساعة وقلبها، يصبح الميناء محميًا بظهر معدني صلب أثناء . 1931 اللعب، وهكذا، أبصرت ساعة “ريفيرسو” النور عام لم يمض وقت طويل حتى تجاوزت “ريفيرســــــو” الغاية التي وُلــــــدت من أجلها. فمــــــا بدأ كأداة عملية صُمّمت لخدمة لاعبي البولو، ســــــرعان ما تحوّل إلى أيقونة في عالم التصميم. فقد جسّــــــدت خطوطها الهندسية المستوحاة من فن الآرت ديكو، وشكلها المســــــتطيل المتناسق، وأخاديدها الأفقية، وعرواتها المثلثة، وآلية قلب علبتها المبتكرة، روح العصر الحديث بكل

ولم يعد الحصان في عالم لونشــــــان مجرد إشارة إلى الماضي، بل ما يزال حتى اليوم يشــــــكّل أحد أبرز منابع الإلهام التي تستقي منها الــــــدار حكاياتهــــــا وهويتها. ففي عام ، احتفت لونشــــــان بالســــــنة الصينية 2026 للحصــــــان عبر حملــــــة خاصــــــة ومجموعة كبســــــولية كرّســــــتا ما وصفته الدار بـ“روح لونشان”. وقـــــــــــد أُعيــــد تقديـــــــم الحصان باللــــــون الذهبــــــي، مندفعًا فــــــوق خلفيات حمراء تحمل دلالات التفاؤل والبركة، فيما ضمّت المجموعة زخارف مســــــتوحاة من عالــــــم الخيــــــل، وإكسســــــوارات على هيئة الحصان، وقطعًا تعيد ترجمة بعض حقائب الدار الأيقونية.
وفي الوقت نفسه، تواصل لونشان تمسّكها بالحِرفية الرفيعة التي أرست مكانتها منذ البدايات. وتجسّد تصاميم مثل حقيبة “لو ســــــمارت” الجديدة خبرة مشاغل الدار في فرنسا، حيث ما تزال عملية انتقاء الجلود، وقصّها بدقةٍ، وتجميعها يدويًا، تُنجز وفق تقاليــــــد تناقلتها الأجيــــــال. كما يعكس هذا الحــــــرص على المتانــــــة، وقابلية الإصلاح، وجماليــــــات التصميم الكلاســــــيكية، قيمًا تجمــــــع بين حِرفــــــة صناعة الجلــــــد وعالم الخيــــــل. واليوم، ما تزال لونشــــــان تحافظ علــــــى خصوصيتهــــــا كواحــــــدة مــــــن الدور العالمية القليلة التي بقيت ملكيتها وإدارتها فــــــي يد العائلة المؤسِّســــــة. ومن هنا، يبدو
