ومنصاتهــــــا بين المباني التراثية التي أُعيد ترميمها، والمرافق الحديثــــــة المصممــــــة خصيصًا لاحتضان الفنــــــون المعاصرة. ويشمل برنامج المؤسســــــة طيفًا واسعًا من المعارض الفنية، والتكليفــــــات الإبداعية، والإصــــــدارات المتخصصة، وعروض الســــــينما، والأداء الفني، مــــــع تركيز اســــــتثنائي على البحث العلمي، والعمل الأرشــــــيفي، وبناء علاقــــــات طويلة الأمد مع الفنانين. وليســــــت المؤسسة فضاء للعرض الفني فحسب، بل تؤدي دورًا فاعلا في الإنتاج المعرفي والحوار النقدي. ويمتد نشــــــاط الشــــــيخة حور على الصعيد الدولي من خلال مشــــــاركتها الفاعلــــــة في لجان تحكيــــــم البيناليات والمجالس الاستشارية، ما يعزز حضور الشارقة ضمن شبكات مؤسسية وثقافية أوســــــع نطاقًا. وفي الوقت ذاته، أولت اهتمامًا خاصًا بتطوير البنية التعليمية المحلية في مجال الفنون. ففي عام ، أشــــــرفت على تأسيس مؤسســــــة أكاديمية متخصصة 2025 في التعليم العالي للفنون، وتولت رئاســــــة جامعة الفنون في الشــــــارقة، بما يربط بين خبرتها القيّمة وممارستها الفنية من جهة، والتدريب الأكاديمي والدراسة النقدية من جهة أخرى. ومــــــن خلال تطوير المؤسســــــات الثقافيــــــة، والتوجيه الفني، والاستثمار في التعليم، أسهمت الشيخة حور في ترسيــــــــــــخ مكانة الشارقة ضمن الخطاب العالمــــي للفــــــن المعاصر، وفي بناء بنيـــــــــــــة ثقافية متينة يمتــــــــــــد أثرها علـــــى الصعيديــــــــــن الإقليمي والدولي.
ويتطلب هذا الدور الإداري قدرًا كبيرًا من المتابعة، والتنســــــيق، وضمان اســــــتمرارية العمل المؤسسي. ومع أنه مجال قد لا يحظى بالظهور الذي يميــــــز أدوار القيــــــادة الثقافية، إلا أنه يمثل المحرّك الأساســــــي لتحويل السياســــــات إلى ممارسات واقعية، والرؤى إلى إنجازات ملموسة وقابلة للقياس. ومن خلال هذه المنظومة، يضمن سمو ولي العهد عمل الأنظمة والجهات الحكومية في الشــــــارقة بأعلــــــى درجات الوضوح والانضباط، محققًا الانســــــجام والاســــــتقرار الهيكلــــــي بالتزامن مع مســــــيرة التطور المستمرة التي تشهدها الإمارة. الشيخة حور بنت سلطان القاسمي رئيســــــة ومديرة مؤسسة الشــــــارقة للفنون؛ رئيسة جامعة الفنون في الشارقة؛ رئيسة المجلس الاستشاري لكلية الفنون الجميلة والتصميم بجامعة الشارقة تولت الشــــــيخة حور بنت ســــــلطان القاسمي مســــــؤولية بينالي الشارقة وهي في الثانية والعشــــــرين من عمرها، لتدشّن بذلك مرحلة جديدة في انخراط الإمارة في المشــــــهد الفني المعاصر. وتحت إشرافها وتوجيهها، تحوّل البينالي إلى منصة محورية في بلدان الجنوب العالمي، واكتسب مكانة مرموقة بفضل أطره التقييمية الرصينة وحرصه على دعم وتنمية أعمــــــال الفنانيــــــن والمبدعين العاملين خارج المراكــــــز الغربية التقليدية للفنون. واليوم، بات البينالي محطة راسخة على أجندة الفنون العالمية. وبصفتها رئيسة ومديرة لمؤسسة الشارقة للفنون، نجحت الشيخة حور في توســــــيع نطاق عمل المؤسســــــة وتحويله من حدث دوري يُقام كل عامين إلى برنامج مســــــتدام على مدار العام. وتتوزع مقار المؤسســــــة
Her Excellency Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi President & Director, Sharjah Art Foundation; President, University of the Arts Sharjah; Chair, Advisory Board, College of Fine Arts and Design [University of Sharjah] At the age of twenty-two, HE Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi assumed respon- sibility for the Sharjah Biennial, initiating a new phase in the emirate’s engage- ment with contemporary art. Under her direction, the Biennial has become a key platform within the Global South, noted for its rigorous curatorial frameworks and its commitment to artists working beyond established Western centres. It is now an established part of the global art calendar. As President and Director of Sharjah Art Foundation, she has expanded its scope from a biennial event into a year-round institution operating across restored her- itage buildings and purpose-built contemporary venues. The programme encom- passes exhibitions, commissions, publications, film and performance, with an emphasis on research, archival work and long-term artist engagement. The Foun- dation functions not only as a venue for display, but as a site of production and critical inquiry. Her work extends internationally through participation in biennial juries and advisory boards, situating Sharjah within broader institutional networks. At the same time, she has reinforced local educational infrastructure. In 2025, she over- saw the establishment of a dedicated institution for higher arts education and became president of the University of the Arts Sharjah, linking her curatorial prac- tice with academic training and critical study. Through institutional development, curatorial direction and educational invest- ment, Sheikha Hoor has consolidated Sharjah’s position within contemporary art
its public framework and HH Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has built an enduring legacy that has led to Sharjah being known across the region as a capital of culture. His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi Crown Prince & Deputy Ruler of Sharjah As Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi sits at the centre of the emirate’s executive framework. As Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, he guides the coordination of government departments, translating strategic direction into operational action and ensuring that long-term policy is implemented with precision and accountability. His responsibilities extend across infrastructure, public services and eco- nomic planning. The Executive Council reviews legislation, approves budg- ets and aligns priorities across sectors including urban development, trans- port, education, investment and social services. In recent years, particular emphasis has been placed on administrative reform and digital govern- ance, reflecting the need for efficiency, transparency and adaptability within an increasingly data-driven environment. The role demands oversight, calibration and continuity. It is less visible than cultural leadership, yet central to how policy becomes practice and how vision is translated into measurable progress. Within this structure, the Crown Prince ensures that Sharjah’s institutional systems function with clarity and discipline, maintaining coherence and stability as the emirate continues to evolve.
