Because culture doesn’t exist in isolation. You cannot truly understand classical horsemanship simply by watching a performance. It lives in craftsmanship, in literature, in history, in education, in music, in conversation, and in the relationship between people and horses. ADREA was always envisioned as a place where all of these disciplines could coexist. Every space at ADREA tells a different chapter of the same story.
تمثل هذه الشراكات جوهر رسالة “أبوظبي للفنون الفروسية الأميرية”، وهي تقوم، قبل كل شيء، على مبدأ الاحترام المتبادل. فلكل أكاديمية تاريخها، وتقاليدها، ورصيدها المعرفي. وعندما تجتمع هذه المدارس، تتولد فرص حقيقية للتعلّم المتبادل، ولإدراك القيم المشتركة التي تجمعها، رغم اختلاف مساراتها. ومن منظورنا، لم يكن التبادل الثقافي يومًا وسيلة لإعلاء تقليد على آخر، بل مساحة يلتقي فيها التاريخ بالتاريخ، وتتبادل فيها التجارب، ويتطور هذا الإرث من خلال الحوار والتفاعل. بوصفك رئيســــــة القســــــم الثقافي في الأكاديمية، ما الذي تأملين أن يحمله الزائر معه بعد مغادرته “أبوظبي للفنون الفروسية الأميرية”، بعيدًا عن جمال العروض؟ أتمنى أن يغادر الزائر وهو يشعر بأنه عاش تجربة تجمع بين الجمال والمعنى. وبالطبع، يسعدنا أن تبقى في ذاكرته أناقة الخيل، وروعة العروض. لكن ما أرجوه، قبل كل شيء، هو أن يدرك أن ما شــــــاهده ليس مجرد عرض، بل إرث حيّ، وأن العلاقة بين الإنســــــان والجواد أســــــهمت في تشــــــكيل حضارات، وألهمت الفنون، والأدب، والحِرَف، وحتى الألعاب، كما يكتشــــــف الزائر في “معرض الفروسية”. والأهـــــــــــــم من ذلك أن هــــــــــذا الإرث لا يـــــزال محتفظًا بحيويتــــــــــــــه وأهميته حتى يومنا هذا. فإذا غادر أحدهم مدفوعًا إلى طرح مزيد من الأسئلة، أو إلى القراءة والبحث، أو إلى العودة مرة أخرى، فأعتقد أننا نكون قد حققنا غاية تستحق كل هذا الجهد. كيف تأملين أن يتجلى دور “أبوظبي للفنون الفروسية الأميرية” في المشهد الثقافي لدولة الإمــــــارات خلال العقود المقبلة؟ وكيف ترين إســــــهامها فــــــي الحوار العالمي حول التراث، والثقافة، والفروسية الكلاسيكية؟ آمل أن تصبح “أبوظبي للفنون الفروسية الأميرية” وجهة يقصدها الناس من مختلف أنحاء العالم، لا لمشاهدة الفروسية الكلاسيكية فحسب، بل لفهم الثقافة التي تحتضنها. لطالما كانت دولة الإمارات ملتقًى للأفكار، والثقافات، والشــــــعوب. وتجسّــــــد “أبوظبي للفنون الفروسية الأميرية” هذه الروح ذاتها؛ فهي تستند بثبات إلى تراثها، وفي الوقت نفسه تفتح أبوابها للحوار، والتعاون، وتبادل المعرفة. وإذا جــــــــــــاء يــــــــــــومٌ، بعد عقــــــــــــود مـــــــــن الآن، أصبحت فيـــــــه “أبوظبـــــــــــــي للفنون الفروسية الأميرية” معروفة بأنها المؤسسة التي صانـــــــــــت هــــــــذا الإرث، وألهمت أجيالا جديدة لتقدير . الثقافة، والحِرَف، والتراث، فذلك، في نظري، خير إرث يمكن أن نُخلّفه للأجيال.
As Head of Culture, what do you hope visitors expe- rience when they leave ADREA? Beyond the perfor- mance itself, what lasting impression or understand- ing do you hope they take with them? I hope people leave feeling that they’ve experienced some- thing both beautiful and meaningful. Of course, we want them to remember the elegance of the horses and the performances, and the beautiful ballet, but more than anything, I hope they leave understanding that this is a living heritage: that the relationship between humans and horses has shaped civilisations, inspired art, literature, craftsmanship, and even games, as seen in our Furusiyya Gallery, and that it continues to have rel- evance today. If someone leaves feeling curious enough to ask more questions, read more, or return again, then we’ve achieved something meaningful. Looking ahead, what role do you hope ADREA will play within the UAE’s cultural landscape, and how do you see it contributing to the global conversation around heritage, culture, and classical horsemanship over the coming decades? I hope ADREA becomes a place where people from around the world come not only to experience classical horse- manship, but to better understand the culture around it. The UAE has always been a place where ideas, cultures and people meet. ADREA reflects that same spirit: being rooted in our own heritage while remaining open to con- versations, collaboration and shared learning. If, decades from now, ADREA is recognised as a place that preserved tradition while inspiring new generations to value culture, craftsmanship and heritage, I think that would be a beautiful legacy to leave behind. .
