This course will outline the pharmacology of analgesics commonly used in dentistry. Scientific literature will be presented to provide an algorithm for prescribing analgesics, depending on the patient and procedure(s) performed. Learning Objectives: • Understand the pharmacology of common analgesics used in dentistry • Understand appropriate opioid prescribing practice • Understand the algorithm for analgesic prescription in dentistry

Dr. Soheil Khojasteh is an anesthesiologist in private practice. He teaches at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. He completed her BHSc at McMaster University, and her DDS and anaesthesia specialty training at the University of Toronto.
