HST Fees in this guide are subject to HST. Note that HST does not apply to programs for children 14 years of age and under (excluding rentals). Wait Listing Every effort will be made to create a spot for you in a session. You will be contacted ONLY if a spot has been created. Class Cancellations Classes may be cancelled due to lack of registrations. We reserve the right to change or cancel programs if necessary. Every effort will be made to avoid these changes. In the event of inclement weather, listen to Easy101.3, like us on Facebook or check www.tillsonburg.ca for updates. Transfer Requests Class transfer must occur prior to the third class and will be based on class availability. After the third class, transfers will only be allowed at a Program Coordinator’s discretion. Credit Procedure If your plans change and you need to withdraw from a class, pro-rated credit will be given to you if you notify us prior to the third class. Credits will remain on account for up to 2 years, after which they expire. Returned NSF Cheques / Credit Cards Payments made by cheque or credit card which are not accepted by the bank, must be replaced with a cash payment. A $35.00 administrative fee will be charged for each returned cheque or credit card payment. Members are responsible for ensuring that credit card info is accurate and current. Family Discounts Each additional child receives a 10% discount on qualifying programs. Anyone eligible for the Family Discount must visit the Community Centre to register. Inclement Weather For your safety, you will be asked to leave the pool immediately when lightning is heard or sighted. Lifeguards will then direct you to our changerooms to wait 20 minutes for recurrence. If there is no recurrence, you will be allowed back in the pool. Lifeguards will wait for a one hour period and if there is no improvement, the facility will be closed. If outdoor temperatures drop below 18 degrees, the facility will be closed. Call 519.688.9011 before coming to the waterpark to ensure that the facility is open. The Town of Tillsonburg will issue a guest pass for those visitors with less than 2 hours of use due to an early closure with a receipt.

Wristband Policy and Pool Admissions Standards Our facility uses wristbands to identify young and at-risk swimmers in the pool.

Facility Swim Test To pass the facility swim test, a child must be able to swim two widths of the pool with his or her face in the water. Swimmers must maintain a regular, comfortable breathing pattern and must not stop during the entire distance.

Red Band All children 5 & under MUST be within arm’s reach of a responsible guardian (12 years+) on a 1:2 ratio. Children ages 6-9 who are not able to pass the swim test MUST be within arm’s reach of a responsible guardian (12 years+) on a 1:4 ratio. This ratio can be increased to 1:8 if lifejackets are worn

Yellow Band Children (6-9 years) will receive a yellow band if they would like to attempt to pass the facility swim test. Results of the test will determine whether the child receives a Red or Green band.

Green Band Children (6-9 years) who pass the Swim Admission Test may swim unaccompanied. Children with green bands may be asked to retake the test if staff are concerned that the child cannot demonstrate the ability to maintain the Swim Admission Standard.

Individuals with Serious Medical Conditions Individuals with serious medical conditions should be accompanied by an individual 12 years of age or older who is knowledgeable of the condition and can assume responsibility for direct supervision.

AQUATICS

Preschool 2 These preschoolers will learn to enter and exit the water and to jump into chest- deep water unassisted. They will learn to submerge and exhale 3-4 times, to kick and glide through water and to roll front to back. Class ratio 1:4. THINGS TO REMEMBER... • Levels are progressive. If you are unsure of what level to register in, please contact us for an assessment at aquatics@tillsonburg.ca or 519-688-9011. • Children ages 7+ must change in their gender specific changeroom. Our staff changerooms are available for your use if you are not comfortable sending your child in alone. • Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper. • Parents are not permitted to view lessons or swims from the pool deck and are directed to watch from the upstairs viewing area. • On occasions, the pool can be closed due to fouling. The pool will re- open once the water chemistry is balanced. If a pool fouling occurs during instructional lessons, we will provide a dry land lesson where possible or provide each participant with a Family Swim Pass valued at $9.00. • No shoes are permitted on the pool deck. Bring your own deck designated shoes or cover your shoes with the supplied shoe booties. • Left something behind on your last visit? All found items are held for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, items are donated to a local charitable organization. • If your child is absent from their lesson, make up classes are not available. • If you have questions regarding your child’s progress or lessons, see the Lead Hand on Deck. • If you miss the last day of lessons, report cards can be claimed at the customer service desk. Report cards will be held for 8 weeks from the last lesson date. Preschool 6 This class is for swimmers who have passed Preschool 5 but are not 5 years old yet.
