chance for others to show off their talents.” So Maxime and his father, Stéphane, worked together as co-organizers for the November 9 evening event in the mezzanine community room, at the Jean-Marc Lalonde Arena. The event featured both artwork and live music, as Clarence-Rockland youth with an urge to create stepped into the spotlight to show off their ideas, their inspirations, and their dreams. “If it goes well,” Maxime promised, “we’ll do this again.”
Elles sont 25. Vingt-cinq person- nalités franco-ontariennes qui ont inspiré Danielle Carrière-Paris à leur rendre hommage, dans un livre qui sortira fin novembre. C’est en collaboration avec le Ré- seau du patrimoine franco-ontarien et par l’entremise d’une édition spéciale du Chaînon que ce recueil sortira sur les tablettes. « Je voulais faire connaitre ces per- sonnalités et leur rendre hommage, a expliqué Mme Carrière-Paris. Je désirais vraiment appuyer la relève émergente à la recherche de modèles positifs et accessibles. » Ce livre porte sur un échantillonnage de 25 Franco-Ontariens inspirants, de naissance ou d’adoption, âgés entre 18 et 92 ans. Mme Carrière-Paris explique qu’elle a choisi ces personnes selon les diverses sphères de la société, représentant la diversité des cultures, des compétences, des générations et des sexes. « Certains sont connus, d’autres moins, a-t-elle confié. Mais chacun ins- pire, discrètement ou publiquement, par choix ou en fonction de circonstances inattendues, par un métier, un combat ou un geste posé. Ma naïveté m’a permis de croire que si je les abordais sur mon projet, ils embarqueraient tous », a-t-elle dit, le sourire aux lèvres. On compte parmi ces 25
