The only safe place during a thunderstorm is inside a building or a closed vehicle, as convertibles do not protect from lightning. If you’re on the water, get to shore immediately. Check the forecast and current conditions often so you LOPXXIBUUPFYQFDU Tornadoes often develop very quickly, which makes them harder to predict than other types of hazardous weather. Additionally, pack nutritious snacks like energy bars, crackers, cheese and fresh or dried fruit, which keep well in different temperatures. • Repair tools. Pack a few hex keys, a small wrench, a puncture repair kit and a spare inner tube to ensure you don’t get stran- ded on the side of the road. • First aid. It’s a good idea to carry a few first-aid items like adhesive bandages, gauze, disinfectant pads, latex gloves and round-tipped scissors to treat minor injuries.
• Protection. Always wear a helmet and frequently apply sunblock. Moreover, the right pair of sunglasses will protect your eyes from the bright sun, wind, dust and insects.

Le Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO) ainsi que tout le personnel de l’école secondaire publique Gisèle-Lalonde félicitent Ahmad El-Barbary pour avoir mérité une bourse d’études Schulich Leader d’une valeur de 100 000 $. Les bourses Schulich Leader sont les bourses STEM de premier cycle les plus convoitées au Canada. Cent bourses sont décernées à des diplômés du secondaire à l’esprit entrepreneurial qui s’inscrivent à un programme de sciences, de technologie, d’ingénierie ou de mathématiques dans l’une des vingt universités partenaires à travers le Canada. Ahmad El-Barbary est un élève accompli et déterminé à atteindre ses buts dans une variété de domaines. Il s’est particu- lièrement distingué par son cheminement scolaire exceptionnel, ce qui lui a permis de se démarquer parmi les meilleurs élèves du secondaire au Canada, cette année. Signe de son engagement envers ses études, il a terminé sa 12e année avec une moyenne cumulative de 98,6 %, soit la plus haute de son école. « Je travaille toujours très fort pour obtenir les meilleurs résultats possibles pour que je puisse m’épanouir pleinement » confie Ahmad El-Barbary, « J’ai passé plusieurs soirées à étudier très tard afin de maximiser

The 40th edition of the HGH Foundation Golf Classic on July 6 at the Hawkesbury Golf & Curling Club raised a record profit of over $55,000 for the Hawkesbury General Hospital. Proceeds from the tournament will help the HGH Foundation achieve its mission to improve the care and services they offer. C’est avec beaucoup de tristesse que la famille annonce son décès à Hammond, le 17 juillet 2022, à l’âge de 77 ans. Fille de feu Euclide Beaudry et de feu Marie-Ange Beaudry (née Leclair). Épouse de Léo R. Blais de Hammond. Mère très aimée de Eric L. Blais (feu Rod Conte) de Toronto et de Angeline Blais (Francis Anjo) de Ottawa. Son souvenir restera gravé dans le cœur de sa petite-fille Katrielle Blais-Pennock. Elle fut prédécédée par sa sœur Marcelle Côté (Jos). Elle est survécue par ses sœurs de Sturgeon Falls, Madeleine Rancourt (feu Serge), Estelle Rainville (feu Raymond, feu Orient Gagnon) et Lucie Beauparlant (Marcel). Lui survivent aussi sa sœur Liliane Robin (Ernest) de Cochrane, Huguette Gascon (feu Édouard) de St. Jacobs, Francine Latham (Bill) de Oakwood et ses frères Gaëtan (Denise Beausoleil) et Ulysse (feu Denise Brazeau), tous deux de North Bay. Elle était la tante aimée de plusieurs neveux et nièces. Elle vivait selon le principe que la « famille » est le pivot crucial de notre société; ce fut sa base de fonctions sociales. Elle a enseigné à tous les niveaux scolaires, de la maternelle au niveau collégial et adulte. Elle était passionnée pour l’environnement et le jardinage. Elle fut membre, depuis sa fondation, de l’association des boisés privés de l’est de l’Ontario, connu sous le nom de Boisés Est. Une célébration de vie aura lieu à une date ultérieure.
