HOUSING PROJECT WINNER: Private Housing Project ANTRIM CONSTRUCTION COURSE HILL AT ENLERBANK
Setting an exemplary standard for sustainable private residential design, Antrim Construction has integrated energy efficiency into spacious homes with high-end interior finishes and practical layouts tailored for modern living. Enlerbank is a mixed-use neighbourhood, incorporating Course Hill, The Village Green and Quayside. Pedestrian, cycle and bus connectivity link with Comber town centre, while ecological initiatives include salt marsh restoration. Strategically phased to deliver infrastructure, landscape and community-focused spaces alongside new homes, and achieving an EPC rating of A-93, the homes were selling out within weeks of release. Site Manager David Boobyer was recognised with a Seal of Excellence for the project at the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards 2025.
Described by his colleagues at McLaughlin & Harvey as a role model for forging a career in construction, Adrian Pollock is a driving force behind securing key contracts and launching CSR initiatives at the company. Adrian has been with the contractor since undertaking a placement in 2005 while studying for a civil engineering degree at Queen’s University Belfast, joining full time after graduation. Becoming a chartered civil engineer in 2016, he has progressed to the role of operations director (civils), with responsibility for the delivery of a range of civil engineering projects including the Translink NI Railways portfolio. As the primary contact for Translink over the last 10 years, Adrian has been instrumental in McLaughlin & Harvey securing a place on its FW122 Permanent Way Major Projects Framework, a five-year capital and maintenance works programme. Other major projects include developing an innovative system to enable dayshift working on an embankment stabilisation project during live train operations at Cloghan Point, as well as designing and building 23 footbridges and cantilevered walkways for The Gobbins. McLaughlin & Harvey became the first NI company to partner Learn Live’s Rail Safe Friendly programme for children, led by Adrian, who is also passionate about delivering a greener future across the transport network and supporting the next generation of talent.
