Judges selected Rosses Gate by South Bank Square as the winner of Social Housing Project of the Year for its outstanding execution of a sustainable, mixed-tenure vision. A large-scale residential development in an area of high need, Derry, Phase 1 of the development comprises 252 social and private affordable housing units. Overcoming significant engineering challenges, the project delivered high-quality, sustainable homes with a tenure- blind finish blending a modern aesthetic with the project specification. The panel praised the seamless partnership between developer and client, strong community engagement and dedicated neighbourhood amenities created for residents. Well planned and built to a high standard, Rosses Gate serves as a benchmark for inclusive residential development.
The Residences by Lagan Specialist Construction blazes a trail in a private market segment previously underdeveloped in Northern Ireland, later living for active over-55s. Setting a new benchmark for later-life residential design, the contractor was congratulated by judges for its commercial vision.
