Through innovation, collaborative working and a people- centred approach, H&A Group is demonstrating leadership in sustainable construction.

QUALITY PERFORMANCE AWARDS WINNER: Excellence in the Use of Construction Software NICOR A bold decision to embrace major digital transformation, by developing a bespoke app in house, has led to significant growth for minor-works contractor Nicor. NicorApp was designed around the real workflow of response maintenance contract delivery and has become the operating backbone of the company, allowing Nicor to deliver a £28m portfolio with the administrative footprint of a business half its size. The app runs the entire job lifecycle on one platform, including seeking and receiving, scheduling, in-field evidencing, SOR costing, reporting and invoicing, with no rekeying. It processes over 70,000 works orders a year across 270 users. Every job carries a complete audit trail of photographs, signatures and certificates, geo-tagged and time-stamped for compliance. Dashboards provide performance overview across all aspects. A live SOR pricing engine applies MTC logic, removing QS rework and pricing error. First-time-fix rates have risen, while instruction-to-invoice cycle timelines have decreased. Every works order completed creates a dynamic risk assessment on site through the app before work begins. Hazards or repairs at the property are captured with photographs and fed back instantly to the office and client, flagging the property for follow-on action. Clients are given direct access to NicorApp, which works offline in basements and rural border areas.
